its actually freeware now so that is just a bonus. my opinion is it is worth trying. i like the controls a lot, it feels very modern, like system shock with mouselook mod modern. feels very good. there are cool spells and interesting mechanics, and it is a very atmospheric game. but it is precedurally generated, which is absolutely fucking shit. if they actually designed the world it would be my favorite elder scrolls game ever. its why i hope the daggerxl comes out well so mod support can come into the equation and people can actually make interesting scenarios

It's when a flash is thrown underhanded in an upward arc so that it blows up right around a corner in someone's face, giving them less time to react. A lot of high level players in CS will throw their pistol instead if they don't have a flash, and if the person isn't paying attention it can cause them to turn around for nothing. In that webm the guy was throwing his pistol because he didn't expect the guy with the awp to peek him like that and the shot just happened to hit his pistol while it was in the air, blocking it.

Look at this immersive old-style fps design. You select a knife, approach target, aim at the target and attack. Light and heavy attacks plus locational damage determine attack effectiveness.

Compare that to modern CoD clones. Be in the general vicinity of an enemy, press quick melee, animation kicks in, you home in on the target, target dies.
