He's the exact same character as Carth, I kept him alive as a change of pace in my most recent playthrough of ME, and this fucker still thinks he can't trust me 100% after I've stopped two Reaper incursions prior, along with me stopping him from getting duped by Udina (where he still had to consider Udina even when he pulled the whole "SHEP IS ACTUALLY A CERBERUS SLEEPER AGENT KILL HIM BEFORE HE TALKS EVEN MORE") as he nearly hands the council over to Cerberus

At least Ash understands you on a soldier's level regarding the incident, and doesn't whine about you making hard calls or going into muh morals tangets
