If I'm really underwhelmed by the main game with 30 mods installed is there any point in getting the DLC? Any chance it will renew my interest? It's just so fucking repetitive and none of the choices matter. There's no committing to a certain type of character, no committing to certain guilds/factions, nothing. Skyrim is stupid, casual, and dull, but Oblivion's gameplay is so fucking consistently unpleasant in every way imaginable that not even having the best quests in the series (which still isn't that impressive) can make up for it. Allow me to enlighten you to how the Thalmor are a threat.
They don't just want to commit genocide and remove all Men from the world. They want to undo reality, so that they can go back to being timeless ehlnofey.
They used Dawn Magic to cause the Void Nights - making the moons disappear. This completely fucked over the Khajiit, destroying their reproductive cycle. It was an experiment in eugenics - since Khajiit were once elves, they figured maybe removing the god damn moons would revert them.
They managed to fight all the way into the god damn imperial city - against the Empire, which, despite being in a diminished state owing to no divine favor, still had legions of heavily armed men, the school of IMPERIAL BATTLEMAGES, which, while weakened.. they're Battlemages.
The Thalmor managed to subjugate the god damn Bosmer, who are shape-shifting cannibals who rule over a savage forest.
They're nothing to be fucked with. They're an extension of the eternal conflict between Men and Mer, and Anu and Padhome. They're the personification of the Elves' ancestor worship, and will stop at nothing to return to their original states, since they hate mortality.

I used all the Dwarven armor set because I was playing a dwemerweeb and also really liked the design of the armor, but even that low level armor was pretty much never used by npcs. All you see is leather and steel, and when it comes to wizards only robes. Shit sucks.

The Medes can't get out of bed in the morning without sucking a banana dick first, much less command a Legion. It was so bad that the Redguards demanded independence and got it easily. If the empire is a joke than what does that make skyrim, Cyrodiil is one of the most populated provinces in tamriel and probably has many times more soldiers than skyrim, better trained as well. They have battlemages and mages meanwhile, half of skyrim is dumb enough to start a civil war when a world war is gonna happen in a few years, at least the empire actively resists thalmor manipulation, the stormcloaks are completely ignorant to it, because nords are objectively, statistically dumb.

To be an Imperial Battlemage you have to be on the power level rank of Gallerion the mystic, Mannimarco...and fucking Zurin Arctrus who was an Imperial Battlemage.
You need to have magic powerful enough to tamper with reality itself and you can create tools that destroy armies/you should be able to destroy armies yourself. A very large chunk of some of the most powerful artifacts EVER created were created by Zurin Arctrus, including Mantella.

Now of course he is above an average Imperial Battlemage, but still, they have to compare to him at least slightly, which is a lot.

Every single major faction wants some sort of One World Government or Apotheosis. Thalmor plan most likely works to some degree, there is probably a major catch there but as far as metaphysics go, most of it is sound and correct.
Thalmor are no different to Tosh Rakas government that preaches Dracochrysalis, or Talos who wishes to see unification of Tamriel under a single culture regardless if people accept it or not together with it being part of a Lorkhanic plan, or Pelinal and his need to erase all of Mer kind from Nirn etc.

All major factions usually have some sort of an idealistic agenda that affects all of the world, Thalmor want to unmake the world to become Ada again and be free from mortality, which is not a bad sentiment if there wasn't more to gain through Mundus, i.e CHIM and Amaranth.

I spent a day or two fiddling with races and shit trying to put together a quest where you'd be working alongside an NPC who's slowly transforming into a Khajiit.

I'm not super happy with the hair but it was one of the least Barbie options of hairstyles I could find that would work on both Khajiit and humans.

I'm thinking about a new build and was wondering if anyone knew a question I have. Does the Necromage perk, which increases the effectiveness of enchants against undead, work on the innate Silver Sword enchantment, which is +20 damage vs undead?

I love the aesthetic of the Silver Swords but with their low damage output and inability to be upgraded via Smithing, I'm having a hard time figuring out a way for them to maintain viability.

I was gonna make a two handed sword user and use the time slow shout for most of the game. Got mods that gave me more perks like flee fool and crushing blows. This had like 200 perks i was so intimidated to spend any points in it since now each great weapon has 10 perks for it. Then my pc died, got a new one up. Now trying to decide if i should go two handed again or sword and shield.

The time slow shout might just be the most broken thing in the game. With a blessing of Talos, Morokei, a Talos amulet, and all three words, you can pretty much stop time every 8 seconds.
