Look, the people talking up the Switch right now are GameStop (who are already in a bad position because they're losing money and need to give confidence to shareholders) and people that work in the stock market. I'm not biased (I own a Switch and two 3DS consoles), but I don't believe the Switch will be successful in its current state. It'll need a price drop (like the 3DS), ACTUAL exclusive games worth owning (it has NONE so far) and third party support (it doesn't look likely right now).

It's not even getting games like Call of Duty, a PROPER FIFA title, GTA, Overwatch, RDR2 etc.

You gotta keep in mind that everyone already owns a PS4, the PS4 Pro isn't strong enough to warrant an upgrade. No one knows what the fuck the Scorpio even is, but Microsoft decided to stop making games so it doesn't really matter anyway.

That said, I really love my Switch and I'm glad it's doing so well. It's portability has effectively ended my use of the PS4, assuming third parties treat it right it'll be my platform of choice going forward.

I honestly think that people who don't make effective use of the portability are giving themselves a vastly inferior experience. As a standard home console the Switch leaves a LOT to be desired, but using it both handheld and tabletop mode is when you start to see how it's a game changer. I've used tabletop mode as a substitute for having multiple monitors, so I can play video games and browse with ease. I've enjoyed nice weather on the veranda while playing video games, something I used to achieve by lugging a television and PS4 outside. It's versatility is truly it's greatest strength and those who leave it in the dock are doing themselves a disservice.
