I tend to agree. Grinding and just walking from place to palce is pretty boring without spot-on commentary to make it worthwhile. But large expansive games like RPG's leave a lot of time to fill.

It's literally how a lot of LPs, especially more high concept ones used to be done, especially for games that aren't exactly fun to watch happening(e.g. turn-based games), back when LPs were more about people going into depth or doing a unique playthrough, and not just some retard mumbling, ranting and screeching over gameplay footage.

Are they more entertaining in a long drawn out way with multiple conversations and premises thrown out there? Then keep it in.

Are they more the "edit to create comedy" type that keeps to the highlights? Then strip it down.

I'm not watching for the game or anything so that's not a factor, it's a glorified podcast at best. The problem occurs when they're not really funny without stripping it down, but don't because sycophants and friend simulators, so they switch it out for trash. But then you just stop watching so it's fine.

I actually did one a few years back. I got pokemon Y for free and decided to do a screenshot LP since I hadn't played pokemon since the gameboy games. But there's no place to host them so I had to use tumblr.

Go on a long walk, read a chapter of a book, do volunteer work and harrass some geese at a local park. This will help with your attention eventually if you do it.

Only LP content I watch still is Funhaus, mostly for their demodisk videos. I think they're pretty funny.

I don't think I've watched a full LP of something since Murdered Soul Suspect on Super Best Friends. It just doesn't really appeal to me to watch someone play a whole game.

So probably the first, though the second can be good as well.
