As much as I love Demon's, the only category it held as best in the series after DaS 1 and 2 was atmosphere, and Bloodborne took that away from it.

I like Bloodborne's core combat better, but I enjoyed Dark Souls 3 more overall.

>Estus is better than blood vials. You don't need to farm estus, you always get a set amount, and it's always a nice feeling getting more estus while no one gives a shit about getting more bloodvials unless you're out
>Warping between bonfires is way better than warping to the Hunter's Dream and then going to where you want
>DS3 has more gameplay variety, builds are way more different than Bloodborne where you have to use melee and your only options are which weapon to use

Bloodborne's core combat IS better, I really liked how fast it was and how it rewarded being aggressive instead of circling around each other with your shields up trying to get a backstab. I liked BB's gun parry thing more than DS3's parry. But DS3 just does everything else better.

If they make a BB2, I hope they do some quality of life improvements like DS3's bonfire warping for lanterns instead of having to return to the Dream all the time.

I still replay DeS every year. Unlike 1 and 2. Also the OST is great IMO because not every song is some over the top chorus shit. DaS2 was really guilty of that.

Depends on how much of a boner you have for the eldritch style I guess. They are very similar games. However you should play both since they are 2 of the best games to come out in recent years.

The main downfalls of bloodborne are its poor performance and lower replayability.

3 also has the issue of not giving you a lot of options for how you progress. The game is pretty much always a straightforward journey to the top of Irithyll.

Bloodborne, 3 just feels like a watered down version of Bloodborne with Souls painted over it. At least BB doesn't have 4 fucking swamps that you need to traverse (even more with the Ringed City DLC). That alone made it more enjoyable. 3 does have some top tier bosses though, with Abyss Watchers, NK, Gael, Friede, and Midir being amazing fights.

My problem with Estus in DS3 is that it uses the same system as DS2. As in, no more need for kindling specific bonfires for more chugs. DS3 went even further by allowing us to change how many of each Eastus we want, without restrictions. This, along with respecs, takes a lot of the permanency DS1 had.

Still, better than farming for more, I guess.

I didn't even mind farming the couple times I had to do it. What felt off to me was chugging healing potions and immediately after killing any decent sized enemy immediately getting more of them.

Part of what I like in souls games is the feeling of getting beaten down as you travel more before finding a campfire, and I felt bloodborne was missing that aspect.
