3DS game is a visual novel with the occasional puzzle and Wings of Freedom was made by Omega Force with the same kind of design choices as their other 'Warriors' games but with completely different gameplay. Highly simplified manoeuver gear controls for both getting around and fighting titans. You're almost never in any danger and neither are your allies unless you take too long to complete missions.

Which is to say the only reason to own either of them is fanservice. The VN for obvious reasons, Wings of Freedom because the budget went into bringing the anime cast back together for yet another interpretation of Trost, the Female Titan arc, the huge library of lines characters in the subgenre have, and new events. Some of them are based on manga content, others original.

The best thing it has going for it is that several of the environments from the series are rendered in full, from Trost to Utgard. For most maps swing over rooftops and down streets instead of following corridor segments to arenas, although you're still flying or riding to the same kind of hotspots as Omega Force's other games.

WoF had multiplayer patched in for the side content, but the game was only ever balanced for one human player spinning plates and putting out fires across each map so they can recover materials and earn rank bonuses to do it all again in battles where the titans have more health.

Co-ordination with other players isn't easy or even necessary, everyone just has to pick a corner and kill titans there until S-rank conditions are met. It's not a great multiplayer experience.

You know that feeling of butterflies in your stomach? That's that bundle of nerves being active. I believe specifically that is it halting the digestive process, but I can't really remember. So it would take some learning, but using a tentacle arm wouldn't be nearly as hard as you'd think, but the usefulness would be limited considering how much stuff is designed around two five-fingered hands.
