The mods are pretty shit save for NT:Together.

Ultra is embarrassingly bad. Complete and utter lack of polish, guns are overpowered and overdesigned, the new mutants don't fit the aesthetic of the game anywhere in the slightest.

On top of that, no co-op, which is a majority of the game for me.

factorio is objectively a great game
consistent transparent hardworking devs
a clear plan and vision as to what 1.0 will be (and it's going to be here by the end of the year)
large high quality modding community, aided by the fact that modding factorio is retard-easy (and pretty much EVERYTHING in the game can be modded, even allowing mods to just remove the base game and use the engine instead)
game is very content rich and plays like a complete game already, bugs are essentially non-existent (and if you find reproducible ones they're usually patched pretty quickly)
gameplay that's easy to understand and play but difficult to master (mastering in the sense of giant sprawling 1+RPM bases and no spaghetti)
community that's helpful and non-judgemental
and a no-bullshit pricing policy (no sales, as they feel like it cheats people - ditto with the pricetag of 20.00 vs 19.99)
i think the only reason you'd ever dislike/have a negative opinion of factorio is because you personally aren't interested the gameplay, or are being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian

Really, almost all of them are not "complete disappointments".
Even stuff like planetary annihilation that was very disappointing is not a TOTAL wash.

If you care for actually good games, the list is less lush, but there are still a whole lot of them.

You can automate your defenses, but you can't automate an offense. You still have to waltz out there and manually turret creep/drive a tank through them, or just install a mod that lets you automate a tank/nuke biters from orbit.

I LOVE the setting of sunless sea. the interactions at certain islands was great.

but jesus fuck the grind was insane. income was a chore to get. even following money making guides still takes fucking forever to get enough money to upgrade a boat. they really should've fixed that because the progression in that game was all sorts of messed up and really interfered with my enjoyment of the exploration.
