the studio is just becoming a woman, nothing to see here

>get permission to make AAA game
>fail miserably
>end as a support studio
Like pottery.
Remember when EA renamed half of their studios Bioware when people liked ME2 but then changed them back after DA2 and ME3 were shit?
They're hanging on by a thread. If the next dragon age and the new IP fail it's all over for them
>>376549774
Why can't you assholes bother to even do a pastebin?
>>376549902
That's true, though : http://www.pcgamer.com/report-mass-effect-on-hiatus-bioware-montreal-transitioning-to-a-support-studio/
And that's great.
>>376550428
>changed them back
You mean straight killed them.

>>376552517
For the love of god, even if the news is good archive that shit. Nobody deserves your clicks.
S
>>376549774
Not surprising at all given how hard they failed.
If they were not based in the Montreal tax haven, they would have been shut down entirely. Now they just go back to doing the scrub work.
>>376549774
>transitioning
The brainwashing never stops.
>>376554003
Kek, they're finally transitioning
>>376554003
Brainwashing?
CUT OFF YOUR BALLS
What ever do you mean?
>>376550428
That was why Bioware were briefly the developers behind Command and Conquer: Generals 2.
>>376549774
Time to update that one image about EA studios.
>>376554728
It was a mercy killing
>>376549774
Why did they give a massibe franchise to a C-team studio? Bioware's image has been kinda tained over the past several years. This really isn't helping.
>They fucked up the KOTOR IP
>They fucked up with the Dragon Age IP
>They fucked up the ME IP
Does Bioware have anything anymore that will make people trust the Bioware name?
So that's why they kept their mouths shut for the last 6 weeks. They didn't know if they still had a job if they said anything publicly.
>>376555293
Lesbians.
>>376549774
Wat, I thought they were going to work on Andromeda for the rest of the year to get the animations fixed and shit. Did they lie?
>transitioning to a support studio
>"On March 2, 2009, BioWare announced it had opened a new studio in Montreal, Quebec, to assist with existing projects as necessary."
>to assist
I'm confused, wasn't it already a support studio
>>376555384
Since they refuse to make them hot or even just cute, they don't even have that going for them.
what a shame
>>376555384
Honestly, having all that gay shit in their games didn't really help them in the end.
S
>>376549774
>hiatus
lets hope its on hiatus the way Hunter X Hunter is on hiatus -permanently.
>>376549774
Jesus christ even their studio is trans
when will this madness end
>>376555497
They had been given full control of MEA and we all know how that turned out. Guess that's why they are now back to being a support studio.
>>376555786
oh ok

There was an investor meeting last night. That's when they change their attitude, when investors start selling stock.
why can't they just make a good game
>>376555497
It started as a support studio, was promoted to a real one for Andromeda, and since Andromeda fell on its ass it gets demoted to support again.
>>376555881
None of the people who knew how to make good games work there anymore.
>>376555881
Diversity hires with zero talent or experience.
Does this mean the update that fixes the game isn't coming
>>376549774
F
Andromeda was a great game, despite what the /pol/tards say.
>>376555991
They never made a good video game.
The only acceptable thing they ever made was fucking Hordes of the Underdark.
>>376555881
Can't make a good game when you're so busy with sending a message that is supposed to change the industry and gamers by proxy.
>>376556110
Here's your reply.
Bioware Montreal was just EA Montreal renamed.
You know, the company that made Army of Two and its shit sequels. And I couldn't name a single other title they did
>>376549774
>people acting like this is the death of Bioware
It's the death of the B-team, but the main studio is still fine.
Press P to urinate on grave
>>376556327
>implying this isn't a good video game
>>376555293
To be fair, that's mostly EA. Bioware finished Mass Effect 1 without EA involvement (Mass Effect came out in 2007, EA took over Bioware in October 2007). Dragon Age: Origins came out in 2009 but to make the facts fit my theory I'm going to assume that they had plans in place for the game since before the EA takeover.
>>376556736
Something old can't be good
>>376549774
Finally holy shit.
>>376555293
>Does Bioware have anything anymore that will make people trust the Bioware name?
People in the know are aware that EA own Bioware and that EA can never, ever be trusted.
People NOT in the know don't care about who made a game. They care about the game IP, not the studio name behind it.
>>376556327
>Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
>KotOR
>not good

>>376554728
You mean this one from 2012?
Seems fitting already.
>>376556961
you can travel back in time and save only ONE company. what is it?
its Bullfrog for me, I loved them.
>>376557310
Bullfrog would be a solid choice.
I'd also think Maxis, but old Simcity Maxis, before Will Wright went nutso.
>>376549774
took long enough. can some one update that age old pic of EA filling a backyard cemetery where Bioware was next up? What studio will EA run into the ground next?
This reminds me of that one game that got slaughteted by Overwatch.
In that the public didn't care much, but the developers still had planned post launch support but theres no excitement in the air. Like it just exists and the devs know that once the initial first wave of DLC/Season Pass content is out everyone is going to be looking for another job due to how tainted the project and brand has become.
I dont mean to sound off like ME Andromeda lost them money, but whatever plans they had for year long support is out the window due to I guess consumer apathy and the brand tarnished over the hilarous bugs/glitches.
Zelda and Persona 5 occupy this years RPG space on consumer minds.

wrong, but the trail of time does not favor all titles.
