The next Metroid should be open world it works for zelda

OP is baiting. Give me (You)s instead of him
whats a Metroid? Is that a Mario character?
Do you not understand what Metroid is?
It'd probably work honestly. Metroid already has varying equipment pickups and elemental stuff going on on a basic level, expanding that into a physics sandbox scenario in a similar way to Breath of the Wild would make for a pretty fun and interesting FPS - especially with some more constrained, linear '''dungeons''' to go through that borrowed heavily from Half-Life 2's playbook of mixing puzzles with environment and Metroid Prime's of mixing platforming with combat.
There'd be a lot of design challenges (what sorts of enemies would be included? how would you make a diverse enough map to match the Prime games' multiple planets? what sort of Metroidvania elements could translate to an openworld 3d game?)
Though it'll never fucking happen because the budget would need to be really big and there's no way Metroid will ever be a AAA franchise again.
So basically Prey? Systems heavy gameplay in an open space station could work as long as they give it some faster combat and a bigger focus on abilities.
You should be able to craft your own abilities too
