It's awesome with mods. I use some to fix the driving, and another to do time trials on the best roads.

Also, first-person mode and opening all interiors make for great gunfights. Oh, and you can even build full missions with a different mod.

Cause a thunderstorm, go to chiliad and fly above the cloud line. See the ONLY light in the city? Go to it. Check the top of the broadcasting tower worth a riddle scope. That's what you're aiming for. The clues are colour coded around you.

Micheal was well-written, the world was better than IV, as was the vehicle handling. The strangers and freaks made it fun.

Trevor and Franklin had zero depth to them, the missions were all very linear in execution, and there are no tanks. The game was OK. It being OK doesn't retroactively make IV good.

They cut a bunch of cool tech present in GTAIV for the sake of bigger map and more content.

I fucking hate GTAO. GTA5 is a great game, but it could have been superb if they took a little extra time with it. They should have kept the TECHNOLOGY from IV and fleshed out Franklin more as a character instead of creating TF2: Crime edition.

This. I enjoyed picking up a brick and smashing someeone's face in- or shoulder-jabbing someone and watching their health bar deplete slowly as they tumbled down the stairwell into the Metro. When I point a gun at someone in Los Santos, they immediately disregard their life and try to drive away. In GTA IV when I point a gun at someone, there's a 33% chance they will either get out, try and run me over, or pull out a gun and shoot at me.

Also, it's been nearly 5 years since release and no Las Venturas or San Fierro map additions. They absolutely dropped the ball on the GTA franchise in every single way.

Everytime I see that map posted on /v/ I get really sad.

I wouldn't even care if they copy pasted some shit. It just would've been really cool to have all of that space for whatever the fuck you want. It would've been great.

I don't know why they did away with a lot of the technology for V. I can only hope that they use all of the money from V to make a great VI if they go that route.

Rockstar was famous for taking technological quirks and innovations from previous titles and making them additions to their next game. Rockstar was obsessed with these little innovations in the late 2000's- GTA IV, Agent, Table Tennis, Max Payne 3, all seemed to build on top of each other... And then they pissed it all away with V.

There has been a massive AAA shift in every single major company AWAY from innovation and advancement, and it's mind boggling as to why.

Not really, the shit isn't free. As for your Rockstar tech argument, what exactly have they done that has been innovative? The euphoria engine wasn't even theirs and the rest of their games aren't mind blowing in the physics department or innovation in general.
