Incorrect. Any% is the one category that is the same no matter what. Beat the game as fast as possible. No rules. No limits. Anything other than that is a different category that requires a different name or a suffix after any% to specify what is not allowed. Took me 31 for my first playthrough on nightmare. Not quite 100% because I made it impossible to find all the dudes thanks to using the recycler nades a bit too much. I'm definintely going to replay it a few times though. I want to do a "save everybody" run as well as a "full alien kill everybody" run which I've heard is pretty damned different from a normal run. Also there's apparently a secret kind of run you can do that the game officially recognizes.

Literally one of the most generic videogames I've ever played.

The enemy variety is shit. Only about 3 types of enemies. Mimics, Phantoms, and Telepaths.

Weapon variety is shit. The pistol is fucking generic as fuck.

Areas are boring and uninspired. The only one that looks different is Arboretum. Life Support, cargo bay, shuttle bay, and power plant are really fucking boring.

The ending is really bad. Like really fucking bad. The "it was just a dream" bullshit really needs to stop.

NPCs are also really uninteresting. There aren't any memorable characters in this game.

Side quests are shit.

Too much fucking backtracking for no reason.

It's one of the most overrated games I've ever seen.

Yes this is the same exact thing, I just watched it myself. Relies heavily on wall glitching and such using the weapon that shoots that hardening foam you can climb on.

If anything this is a plus because its a testament to the game not having weird moments that take you out of action forced on you. The game truly does allow freedom, involving completely skipping all of it. I'd have to say thats indicative of a good game...

Some games have short speedruns that don't use out-of-bounds glitches, but they need to have some abusable mechanic that lets you either move at ludicrous speed or skip vast amounts of content. Quake 1 is the classic example because rocketjumping allows you to beat some entire maps in like seven seconds.
