Morrowind's landscapes are unique and interesting but the enemy variety and placement is very weak. All you get are randomly and sporadically placed cliff racers and samey bipedal beasts.

Dragon's Dogma has good enemy variety and placement that makes you stay on your toes when exploring but its world is mostly featureless and generic.

Just began the witcher 3, landscapes are from a fucking fairy tales, just beautifuls.

Upper Cathedral, getting to Fake Yosefka, Old Workshop, Castle Cainhurst, Suspicious Beggar, and Queen Yharnam blew my mind, considering I was playing completely blind.

Made the game feel like a true modern Castlevania.

Of course, I don't think anything will truly top Ash Lake, though.

Skyman fucking sucks when it comes to exploration. There's practically only three types of areas, Draugr Ruins, Dwemer Ruins, Dwarwen Ruins. The rest is super One-Of, and most often quest specific.

Morrowind and Oblivion are amazing in this aspect though.

Hell, Fallout 3 was better when it came to exploration than Skyman
