I'm that guy for this one dude.

I met him on League way back when it was fresh out of beta. We got to talking and he just kept talking to me. I think I was 18.. maybe 19. Dude sounded like he was 30+, and I would often lie about not having a mic or being unable to get Ventrillo working so I wouldn't have to hear him breathe and be creepy. He gave me his steam name and password, which had something like 200 games on it, and said I could play whatever I wanted. He only had two friends on steam, me and some other guy who was always online whenever I was on his account, but would never contact me. As I'm typing this now I realize it might have been him.

I opened a new account on steam and just considered the 12 or so games I had at the time casualties of retail. Sometimes you people deserve to be alone.

I was the quiet kid back in high school. I had a very small group of friends but grew apart pretty quickly after graduation and we didn't do too much outside of school when we did hang out.

I was more of social butterfly online. I was popular on some old gaming forums and was constantly talking with people on XBox Live, Steam, and any messenger that existed in the early 2000s. However, even though I made some great friendships, I have an extremely hard time keeping up with them. I always follow the same damn lonely pattern. I just let friendships go even though I don't want to and it all starts with just not logging in or trying to talk to them like I use to. And it's not intentional. I just get the impression that they're bored of me so I just let myself fade away.

I don't know. I never knew how to make friends, both online and irl. I just couldn't understand the mechanics of it. I can function normally in groups/society and I'm not a sperg, I guess I just have some trust issues, who knows. Most of my "friends" were acquaintances, a consequence of prolonged proximity (school, college etc). As a consequence of that, my online friends were just "some people on a list" and I did that /not talk to them for long periods of time because of reasons/ which ultimately ended in distancing and deletion.
