I haven't played it but from all the gameplay footage many aspects of it just appear generic as fuck. It seems similar to HZD in that it has some interesting mechanics which can suck you in but that's about it.

I had the same feeling. Like everything was ok, but not quite good enough. I ended up refunding and installing the Bioshock remasters since I haven't revisited those since launch. Not that combat in the BioShock games was ever great but weapons and powers feel a lot better.
