Not true, Valve have been pouring time and money into GNU/Linux. They've specifically hired developers to work on the open source AMD drivers and the outcome of that work has been clear with the open drivers outperforming the official drivers from AMD in practically every benchmark. Both a open source driver fast enough for gaming, and a decent AMD driver were fantasies just a few years ago.

Valve still won't say why they're investing in something that is so platform and hardware specific, but its pretty clear we're going to see a second gen Steam Machine that's going to be built around modern AMD SOC hardware just like consoles are.

Its true that they have at least one team of devs (they hired some really famous Linux game porters) who they've been lending out to help other companies with games.

They've also been working on at least three different internal game projects. Though its not clear when they would arrive. Probably after the CS:GO source 2 port and the additional Vulkan performance work that will bring.
