Because consoles stopped having those strengths, they don't offer what they used to. PS4 and Xbone share most of their libraries with PC, this wasn't the case before, most consoles had lots of exclusive games. Consoles aren't as simple to use anymore, and aside from Nintendo's consoles you can't simply put a new game into the console and play it. Much of the convenience of playing on a console has disappeared as well.

This is just the worst set of consoles in over two decades, the Wii U had some good exclusives and was the best of the three for that reason alone but it was still arguably among the worst consoles Nintendo has produced.
