If you're looking to play against other humans on PC the only games I can recommend are SFV and Killer Instinct if you're on Windows 10 because they have cross play support.

Unless of course you don't mind playing older fighters on PC then I suggest googling Fightcade.

As others said, SFV and KI will have the most people. You can also play older games in fightcade if you want.

Melee is the only fighting game worth mastering. And it's not even a fighting game. Everything else lives for a couple of years then dies

UMvC3 on PC is still fun

Under night In Birth is on PS3 and PC, it's a pretty damn solid fighter. Unfortunately, only like 15 people play it on both platforms combined. Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code is on PC, which is a good fighter as well.

Arcana Heart 3 Love Max is on PS3 and PC, it's got a pretty strong single player element to it (for a fighting game, anyway) and its still got a small but dedicated fanbase.

Skullgirls is actually more or less alive, that's a great one as well.
