What can they even bring to the table that makes the series interesting again. AC4 was the exception beacuse it was mostly a pirate sim, but even the ship stuff won't be great another time. They tried to go back to the more basic stuff with Unity and Syndicate but they're both not that great either

It always felt so weird going back to AC games with less shit after Revelations which had almost too much stuff though. Unity dialed it down a bit too far but did the assassinations rather well.

The double assassination was epic, I still remember the crowd at e3 go insane when they saw Ezio jump off a building and stab 2 guys.

The story was fun too, and olden day Italy had some great architecture for the game.

Depends on what you do, it has the usual counter and kill AC gameplay up to that game, story is mostly pirates and even the main character gives no shits about assassins. There're quite a few tailing missions though, aside from that you have tons of stuff to do like hidden underwater caves, hunting whales or sharks, fghting against otehr ships, finding hidden islands etc. and you meet some famous pirates

Honestly to me it looks like clothing, especially since every other Assassin's Creed protagonist is fully covered, they're never dressed with all that skin exposed. The fact that the lighting is the way it is could be casting a natural inward shadow that makes the person look darker too.

I'm not saying you're wrong, in fact I'm willing to be you're right, but I'm taking it all with a grain of salt. Ubisoft loves money so much that I'd be amazed if they used a black protag for the next AC game. So far, the only AC game with a black protag is also the worst selling AC game ever. Also, Watch Dogs 2 used a black protag and completely bombed and performed drastically below expectations.

Connor was the last good story and blackflag was the last good gameplay

How to fix Assassin's Creed story in three easy steps:

1. Bring back a modern day protagonist. Enough of the first person, faceless Abstergo employee shit. It's not fun, it's not immersive and no one gives a rat's ass about the women barking orders at you via computer. A modern day protagonist would tie all the ancestor stuff together, act as a pillar for the overarching plot, and give the player a reason to care about all the ancestors the Animus is giving us.

2. MAKE A COMPLETE STORY FOR EACH GAME. Unity was completely shit in this regard because it just ended on a wet fart, with Arno fucking off to Egypt after his waifu gets killed and....that's it. No closure, no tying up loose ends. Enough with the sequel bait. Give each game a beginning, middle, and end, to both the modern day protagonist and the ancestor. I'm tired of getting blue balled in the narrative.

3. Stop making the protagonists historical Forrest Gumps. AC 3 was shit because there was no story. It was just an unlikable native American assassin meeting one historical figure after the other. WOW, you got to meet George Washington! But I don't fucking care! Put more focus on telling a story and less on the celebrity appearances.
