My first character back in vanilla was a dwarf hunter, it took me so fucking long to figure out how to tame a pet correctly and then I got annoyed when it fucked off because I didn't feed it (didn't know I had to).

I had a friend who played a NELF Rogue, and his skills were on par or better than the guy in the World of Roguecraft vids. He was incredible.

At level 40-45, he could kill capped players. Maybe not other Rogues because he would never see them first, but he could easily kill level 60 mages, warlocks, hunters, and shamans. When he finally capped himself he would fucking tear shit up.

So my fondest memory is me on my Human Paladin, an auto-attacking beast with Seal of Command, him, and our other friend on a hunter just annihilating other players, almost always outnumbered. Great times.

It's almost a cliché by now, but the first time my largely newbie shit guild downed Ragnaros, and I was part of the exultant screaming on ventrilo... man, what a fucking feeling. Also finally getting full dreadmist on my warlock felt so good. I played an Alliance warlock, and we were (obviously) very few in number, so we all knew each other. It was great stuff.

Nothing has matched the comfyness of this game yet. Literally every zone is comfy.

I actually went through the pointless grind that was the D2 set quest chain. I maintain that it was the best series of quests Blizzard ever implemented. It had a fantastic original story that was surprisingly involved with all the weird items you had to make and colorful NPCs you met along the way, and even though the D2 sets were itemized like shit most of them looked really fucking cool. The best part was you got to keep the items to summon all the bosses and they still worked last I checked back in MoP, though the ones in the dungeons that got revamped had been removed.

I'm older and have a regular day job now but I wouldn't mind a big timesink MMO if it was similar to vanilla WoW where leveling was slow, had a lot of thought put into it, and really mattered. My problem with the rogue revamp, having played rogue since vanilla, is that it didn't really add anything beyond the new visual effects. Outlaw looks cool but it plays like combat had already played for MoP and WoD with less skills, both active and passive. Sub got gutted entirely and replaced with a mess of a spec, and thanks to their "class fantasy" focus making once-core spells spec-exclusive Assassination is the only one that plays like rogue used to play from vanilla through wrath.

I had always wanted another legion expansion with demon hunters and class quests and shit but that rogue revamp was bad enough for me to finally drop wow for good.

Darrowshire's servers have been fucked for a few days now, and now instance ID's aren't resetting. Some people have 11 days until Dire Maul or ZG unlocks, but the devs refuse to manually reset because "it doesn't solve the root problem."

Belves get a lot of shit, which they deserve because they're way too popular and the playerbase is retarded, but man they have hands down the best lore and in-game zones/quests.
The story arc of the Blood Knights throughout TBC was so god damn great. It sucks that it ended up with them just becoming normal Light-worshipping paladins, their original class quests were so cool and the concept of such a cut-throat paladin organization was really neat.

Darkshore gets a lot of hate because no one knew how to optimize quest runs back in the day but god damn do I love that zone. Tons and tons of quests, almost all of them worth doing, good lore, good NPCs, occasional run-ins with Horde when you get closer to Ashenvale but without the constant ganking that Ashenvale had. Fun all around.

I'm with you on the Peak, though - I played Alliance back in the day and just went "fuck it" and explored a crazy lot of the world in the early levels, ending up at fucking Ratchet doing quests there.

Ratchet leads into Stonetalon Peak, and I felt like I had discovered a secret zone full of quests, there was no-one there.

First while playing vanilla I missed the lower leveled quests for stonetalon peak.
Not sure how I discovered them, I think I went to ashenvale, had some quest leading me into stonetalon peak and then realized I had quests there.
And that was as a horde.

I think the main problem is that the weakest zone is the Jade Forest, which you always start in. I really like the way Valley of the Four Winds is done, too. It's all right to have a peaceful zone sometime, and it pulls it off pretty well. Makes you feel like there's actually something to protect.

Ahhh Kharanos. I have such fond memories of this place. How could I forget the first time I wandered into Dun Morough just in time to watch the Legion's dropships teleport overhead. I was only a weakling back then, but I held my own all the same, running around punching and yelling at every demon I could I find alongside hundreds of other wimps. Somehow, through our collective incompetence, we managed to fight the vanguard forces off. I even took a S.E.L.F.I.E. on the corpse of a demon lieutenant! Then we all went to the inn, drank ourselves into an instantaneous stupor, and by the time we awoke the demons were back and ready to fight again! Oh the fun we had, punching and killing demons over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. I tell you, nothing builds character like mindless repetition for hours and hours and hours! Good times. Let's never have them again.

As bad an idea as the Naaru were, I still really loved the concept of the player factions forming a huge army of the Light to fuck up the Legion with. The Isle of QD hub was fantastic.

I also really, really loved what they did with Shattrath. Having the capital city be a giant refuge for all sorts of crazy alien life was really cool. Easily the best city the game ever saw in my opinion.

People like peaceful zones. I honestly think MoP suffers from the Post-wrath game design. Its way too handholdy and you can't get immersed into the area because the plot is always beating you over the head.

It's weird because you have a lot of quests available to you at once and it ends up looking like they're all over the place, but if you split the zone into an upper and lower half you can make really time efficient quest runs all over it while clearing an entire quest log full of shit at once. It also helps to know where all the beached sea turtles are since you can pick up a quest from each one. Very smooth leveling once you know the zone, though.
