I would say no but if chess and poker qualify then so do video games.
>>
>>376437886
Does it matter? It fills out stadiums in korea and hundreds of thousands of people tune in during tournament streams. Winners come out millionaires for the biggest pots.
>>
>>376437886
No. Its adorable how desperate these losers are for some sort of legitimacy

Is esport an esport ?

For legal purposes sure. Legally motorsports and chess are treated the same as regular sports even though they aren't athletics.
>>
>>376437886
From an athletic standpoint, no.
From a skill standpoint, perhaps.
From a profitability and marketing standpoint, breathing could be a sport with the right backing, so yes.
>>
>>376437886
As much as traps are women.

Chess and poker aren't sports. This is one of those cases where you have to think it through a bit yourself instead of falling for the diffuse-shilling all around us. If they're "officially certified as sports" or something similar, it's still because they want to scoop up all of that 'sport-spectator money'.

Sports are physical activities, and the only respectable ones are the ones that give way to summits of physical excellence. You couldn't even call chess or poker a micro-sport for how little the word sport applies to them, and the same goes for games (even if it takes a bit more physical exertion to be observant and quickly press some buttons).

Yes
>>
>>376437886
Yes, it just involves a lot less overall body movement and more hand-eye coordination.

Still full of autists and negative effects upon devs though.
