The game has glaring problems that I don't think will be fixed. It gets a pass because it's 'early access' which means it's apparently perfectly fine for vehicles to be broken as holy hell, buildings to not load in and flashbangs to crash people's game.

In a game people have paid money for. Without a guarantee that the game will ever be fixed or actually improved in any way.

Reminder that even in a fun game early access is still a scam. If you want to sell a product you should have to finish it first, or else developers can and will just fuck over their consumers and never bother delivering a finished product, running away with the money they got from people riding the hype train.

The way it makes your heart pump, gives you an adrenaline boost at every firefight and especially at the final circle is a feel that I didn't get in games for a while now.

Yes, it's better with friends (like almost any other game), but it can be very fun alone as well.

The devs do seem to care about their game, pushing regular updates out and sitting in the discord chatting with their playerbase.

Compared to other EA games, this one at least has all the base features working so it's already in a very enjoyable state. Also note that you need at least something around a 970 and a 2nd gen CPU (sandy bridge+) to get 60 fps at all times (on higher settings).

Early Access is supposed to go for 6 months, so about 4 months are left. If it turns out to be a huge disappointment in the end (which I doubt) I'll just refund it after it releases, like I did with KF2.

Also as a motivation to some people, I also didn't have any fucking interest in this game until I was so bored out of my mind I thought I'd just buy it, play it for 2 hours and refund it if I didn't like it and now I played it for 101 hours.

The reason it's so popular is because people really reallly want a good multiplayer survival / battle royale game. Pretty fun with friends. The adrenaline rush is great when you take down an entire squad while your teammates are incapacitated. My biggest complaints are the 3rd person view and bullets coming from the gun barrel rather than the reticle.

3rd person view sucks because it lets you see over walls, around corners, etc and generally benefits campers when they already have an advantage to begin with.

Bullets coming from the gun barrel sucks because consistency suffers for it. Sometimes, even if you're aiming down sights in first person, your bullets will hit the wall or barrier below it because your bullets spawn a foot below the aiming reticle.
