Probably most we'll see are games that'll get really close to Xbone's early titles in terms of graphics. But knowing Nintendo and seeing what they were able to pull off with Wii U or 3DS in terms of graphics, I kinda hope for something really fucking great.

Zelda is amazing, but the graphics do seem like a Wii U game, you can tell it was a rushed port and not something made from the ground up.

Splatoon 2 kinda worries me, since the graphics look literally the same as Wii U, with no added better lighting, models, textures or some shaders. Whatever they could put there to show us that Switch is more powerful. I hope they don't fuck it up too much, since I know the game will be good, but it makes me wonder how often they want to push Switch's graphics.

I use to disagree when people said soon cell phones will be the home console, but I can see it, especially how well the docking system for the switch works. Cope it with the ability to use a actual controller, in a few years phones/tablets will be able to throw down some pretty high quality stuff, without the necessity of proprietary stuff like consoles.

While I agree that Splatoon 2 is kind of worrisome in a sense. Splatoon having quickly become a prominent and notable frachise, it would have been a great opportunity to show off better graphics. And in older generations they probably would have taken that opportunity.

But to be fair. I am pretty sure the main reason for why the game looks the same, is performance. You can simply call them lazy or cheap if you want, it's probably partly true either way. But I think the maps of Splatoon 2 will be much more involved. And since it's an online game, they likely want to have more involved stages without any hit in performance.

I mean Splatoon 2 will have maps with ziplines and stuff. Wich were never in the first game.
So while the game will look the same. It'll likely have more going on at once.
