What's your honest opinion about japanese indie games?

I like them. The Japanese indie scene has always been interesting.

They very wildly in quality, but there are a few good ones.

As with most things, there's plenty of good and bad, but the good is really top notch. It's true of both Japanese indie games and doujinsoft.

I wish the Mitsurugi devs would make a new game with some guys who actually know how to do level design, the core combat is fantastic but everything else is tragically lacking.

They have some great titles, like Labyrinth of Touhou 2 and Fortune Summoners (at least I think they are both Japanese and not look-alikes)

I want a DLsite filter that lets me exclude RPGMaker games from game searches. Nothing against them, but sometimes I'm in the mood for something besides them and 99% of the listings are RPGMaker stuff.
