I'm not that guy, but I'm pretty sure he meant that the level-design and static enemies made it bad/boring when playing it like the other games, not that it made it too hard. So you CAN'T just play it like the other games. That's how I read it, anyway.

A game whose design relies on you taking cover and trading shots with another guy behind cover becomes shitty as fuck if you ignore the cover-angle and just waltz over to him and shoot him in the face without him even moving.

So who owns the rights to Max Payne now? Is it still Remedy's, or does rockstar have it?

Max Payne is pure kino. More comic than movie though, but still a very good example of film noir. They also made a movie out of it, but it's terrible.

What really interests me about Max Payne 1 is the number of versions. It's on PC, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox, iOS and Android which are all slightly different though the mobile versions take the cake for different sound effects, controls obviously and lighting. The android version seems to run really well on NVIDIA Shield

The GBA version is more unique as it's a top down version with different music but similar level design

PC version still wins of course
