What did /v/ think of this game?

I really liked it as a kid, and I played through it at least 5 times in the span of about 6 years when I got in 2007. It's actually pretty good for a licensed game

I played the PS2 version myself, and it's pretty weird how different all the versions are from each other. I watched a few videos of the PS3/360 version of the game to refresh my memory, and it had lots of stuff I didn't remember, like an overworld. It also runs differently and has different effects than the PS2 version.

It had a decent amount of levels, and they're all pretty good. I remember how my child mind struggled with the things that seem so obvious to me now, 10 years later. Also the last boss was a DDR battle against God
>>
Never got to play it. My greatest regret. Was this the GTA type one?
>>
>>376392189
No, that was Hit&Run, this was the one that revolved around them realizing they're videogame characters with videogame powers, and it had levels to clear
>>
>>376392189
That's "Simpson's Hit and Run" which is top tier.
>>
I was just thinking of this game. It was fun, and video games were untreaded waters so the writing felt fresh with some top tier bantz.

>I'm Will Wright, bitch!
>>
>>376391548
This was actually pretty good. The PS2 version butchered though. It was serviceable in terms of gameplay but it took out so much of the content.
>>
>>376392603
Oh really? That's a shame. What content was cut from it besides the overworld?
>>
>>376392603
Wait what?

>liked it as a kid
>Simpsons game was released in 2007
>i was already 18
>2007 was 20 years ago
>>
>>376391548
I remember it being a lot better than I expected it to be.
>>

You from the future?
>>

For a game that loves poking fun at game cliches, it sure does follow a lot of them to the letter like an complacent dog.

Some jokes made me grin, but most were standard modern Simpsons unfunny types.

And most game references were literally like Mario jumping on a table front and center and shouting out loud a Hotel Mario reference.

AND NOBODY SHUTS THE HELL UP WITH THE ONE-LINER JOKES, I HATE THIS IN LICENSED GAMES.

NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOU WANTING TO SEE ZELDA, BART.

Fighting clones of Bender and Zoidberg in Matt Groening's mansion was amazing though.
>>
>Rockstar bantz with other games all the time
>The Simpsons Game pokes a little fun at GTA with Grand Theft Itchy
>Rockstar tells EA to remove it or else they'll sue

I see why why parody games aren't made too often. Most developers have thin skin and will bully anyone who tries to bant

>Rockstar tells EA to remove it or else they'll sue

Wow, seriously?

Considering how much Rockstar mocks political opinion and such, it makes me want to throw rocks at their glass house.
>>
>>376393117
I guess you could say that it was the point that it had all the cliches because it even has "videogame" in the title

And yeah it was fucking annoying that no one would shut the fuck up

WHO HERE LIKED ROAD RAGE?
>>
>>376393796
Road rage was good but Hit and Run was way better.

also Future Perfect was a 10/10 game
>>
I only played the DS one. It was actually pretty good. Although, some of the jumps in the platforming stages were bullshit. Still have yet to get all of the cliches.

>>376393796
For a crazy taxi clone, it was pretty good. Going around and finding shortcuts was the best part. That, and some of the quotes when you are taking someone to a specific place.
>>
>>376393968
It was fun finding all the cliches
>>
For a game that seemingly was put everywhere but PC, you'd think it'd be easy to get nowadays.
>>
I remember playing this game on my PSP, great game!
>last battle was hard as fuck tho
>>
it's absolutely nowhere to be found. It was even removed from the Playstation Store for some reason. I once found a copy for PS3, but it was like 40€ or 50€
>>
>>376394575
EA lost the Simpsons license, they're no longer allowed to sell it.
>>
>>376394754
Oh, I see. Shame
>>
>>376392189
There is a level called "Grand Theft Scratchy".

I've played it on both Xbox 360 and the PS2.
The PS2 version didn't have the Springfield hubworld to travel around in and the last level only had you playing as Lisa and Bart.
At the same time the Xbox 360's version of the level "Five Characters in Search of an Author" was nothing but a giant mob fight and all the puzzles were gone. It's a shame because I remember one of them was directing a beam of light that made the choir sound from the Simpsons opening.
>>
>>376392767

Kind of related to that

>Find Hit and Run
>Pop it in my Gamecube
>Last played Oct 2003
>Feel wave of nostalgia rush over me

Getting old sucks. Even inconsequential moments becomes moments you wish you could relive.
>>
Still have it for PSP, awesome game but never bet the last level.
>>
>>376393280
They were kissed because they felt Hit and Rub aped off GTAIII
>>
>>376395537
I remember that light beam puzzle, damn that was so hard to figure out when I was a kid
>>
Pretty fun co-op game, me and my friend had a lot of fun with it
>>
>>376399279
Playing co-op was really fun in that game
>>
>>376399279
>>376399519
I feel like there is a lack of co-op games being made nowadays
>>
>>376393968
Hey I played the DS one too!
It's so different though to the other versions
>>
>>376399883
Same screen co-op is a dying feature unfortunately, games nowadays focus more on online multiplayer
>>
>>376399939
Unfortunately same screen co-op games made back in the PS2 era was mostly in licensed games (Ultimate Alliance, Battle for volcano island, nicktoons unite, etc..), even though I would personally love to play a game like that today, it's a question how many kids would actually buy the games.
>>
>>376400664
Yeah, it's sad but true
>>
Fighting Matt Groening in this game was also pretty nice
>>
>>376400664
this
>>
>>376402009
yes
