is vita tv worth it
Vita TV is worth about $50 US.

do touch screen games work
Thumbnail made me think it's a box of tissues
>>376386978
Vita tvs sold for $20 during black Friday
If you wanna play Vita games on the TV instead of on an actual Vita, then sure.
>>376386935
cheaper than buying a Vita
no streaming functions though
>>376387075
Some do since they add a pseudo pointer to replicate touch screen functions using the controller. You can turn it on or off during the game with a specific hotkey and drag the hand where you need it to go. Not all games are supported in this fashion though. There's a list of what is and isn't compatible for the PSTV if you google it.
Also, I got mine for $15, so do some research for a good deal if you can.

Does it still need the retarded overpriced memory card bullshit?
Even if you only wanted to play like 2 games on it, considering the price it's worth it (can use your PC to backup/rotate games too if don't want an expensive mem card).
And since it's discontinued, they're all outdated.. so piracy is possible.
>>376387404
lol not these days, any USB drive can be mounted as a memory card and this is exclusive to Vita TVs
if you get one make sure it's either brand new or on firmware 3.60 or lower to hack it
>>376387763
bump
Isn't the Vita TV literally the internal scaler the original OLED model had for tv out?
They literally didn't produce the proprietary cable for it during the original run and, instead, decided to separate the two and sell it as another more expensive product that can only play games that Sony specifically whitelists for it.
It's like you're buying a Vita that doesn't have a screen and isn't quite as portable.
And nobody seemed to bitch about this
>>376387763
Can you really hack the vita tv the same way you do wuth the og vita?
>>376388920
yes
Get one, mod it, and throw all of the Vita games in existence on a 1TB USB drive, thennever play any of them
>>376388920
it's a firmware bug and they run the same firmware save for a few changed settings, so yes
>>376386935
Doing official stuff, no.
Hacking and doing unofficial stuff, fuck yes. Still needs some work though.
>>376389023
>>376389124
Nice. I have a hacked vita already though.
>>376386935
hack it, buy a 128gb usb drive and install everything on it.
>>376389320
>not having adrenaline
>>376389436
what's it do? i lose interest in hacking the moment i can start pirating games.
>>376386935
Depends what you want to use it for. Playing a bunch of PSP/PS1 games on a TV with a DS4? Absolutely.
Vita games require a bit more research.
>>376386935
Depends how much you're getting it for, costs have historically been all over the place.
>>376389518
it turns your Vita/TV into a full-fledged CFW PSP
Opens up an entire library to the user.
>>376389675
oh. fuck it, i already have ppsspp.
>>376389518
Play PSP gamesfor the most part, and PS1 games
haven't fully tested each gamesomewhat, some games are locking up on loading screens for whatever reason..
>>376389705
except it has perfect compatibility and can connect to other Vitas/PSPs
>>376389712
How is the compabilty?
>>376391470
There's no list, but people have been saying some games have issues.
On my end, Harry Potter 1 locks up at a certain point. Tobal No.1 has some sound issues and Marvel vs Capcom takes longer to load things up than on my actual PS1.
I still want to test out more games on it though.
