If you're on a N3DS you're an idiot not to. You can remove the underclock the system puts on games when running on a N3DS which means stabler framerates and stream games without a capture card. Both systems can also take screenshots natively, use cheats, run translation patches natively, can run purchased out of region games natively (As in, you can order a cart of Rhythm Paradise Megamix and play it on your US console), can use custom themes, and so on. This is without mentioning any kind of piracy, you are purposely gimping yourself for no reason.

Depends on the game, some crash, some run mostly the same, and some gain massive boosts or stability. Set it to Clock + L2 in the Luma settings on boot (Hold Select I think it was, it's at the top).

Natively means doing it without having to jump through hoops. I don't have to boot up anything like NTR in order to run it, I can simply pop my cartridge into my system and it pops up on my screen and loading it up poses no problems. Yeah, there's hoops to get to that place in the first place but after that you never have to do them again since it becomes something you can do whenever without doing anything special.

It just allows homebrew themes, tools, and games. There aren't many games, but there are plenty of themes and a theme designer. The tools vary depending on the game you're playing.

For example, Pokemon makes it a pain in the butt to check your full creature stats. There are tools that can quick-check for you in a blink of an eye. There are also tools that can detect hacked pokemon for those who want to play fair and tools to generate hacked pokemon for people with no time who don't care about game balance.

This is just the most popular example I know of. There's more out there.
