Oh, and if you're playing it, play a translated version of the SNES remake.

This is a great choice.
>Used the names of my friends wow characters
Good times.
Tbh this game would be pretty nice on the switch now that i think about it.

Icewind Dale I & II

I don't know why devs have to be so retarded about making good party-based RPG games on consoles. The Wii U was perfect for having 3v1 styled gameplay with the player holding the tablet as the 'DM'.
I guess the problem lies in how it limits sales to one couch as opposed to four.

I feel you on that

Lots of people seem to like this game. This review I watched a while back hates it a lot. What's he missing?

It may sound weird, but modded Skyrim is one of the funnest experiences when modded if you're into creating a party.
>install AFT or UFO
>install unique followers (It adds unique abilities to each one of the followers in the game according to his story)
>get apocalypse + summermyst
>get economy overhaul
>install ordinator
>go for the heavy armor tree
>get warbanner + warbringer
>deck out 5 followers in heavy armor
>get speech/illusion
>get all the leader of the pack perks
>learn spells that enhance your friends
>go for the restoration tree
>get spreading wings
>now you have area healing for all your companions
>handcraft each piece of gear
>equip them, change their AI like you want
>go around in comfy adventures with your mercenary warband
You can also get apothecaria, because there is an elixir there that passes your knowledge (a.k.a perks) to your followers, altrough it's expénsive as fuck, costing like 20K

Grand Knights History.

baldurs gate 2

He went into it with the goal of actually finishing it before he made the review, so his slow progress towards that goal drove him nuts. Buy it, play it for less than two hours, see if you like the gameplay loop. If you like it you won't mind languishing in the midgame, if you don't you can refund it. There's also a new mode that makes stuff cheaper and overall progress faster.

Joseph Anderson is the biggest complainer on youtube gaming. He complains about literally everything possible. People like him want some kind of perfect, magic game and will never be satisfied with anything, always finding something to nitpick. As such, he is a waste of time. He could take any game and spend an hour talking about how this is wrong, or this could be improved. blah blah blah. Critics like him need to die.

Define RPG. If you want a "core line" rpg, Temple of Elemental Evil, Legend of Grimrock 2, early final fantasies and dragon quests are great games for getting a real RPG feeling and making characters that you enjoy. If you go by the loosest definition of the game, you might enjoy the xcom series, chroma squad, valkyrie chronicles, LISA, Shadowrun dragonfall, and even Mount and Blade Warband to an extent.

Thanks, friend. How does it compare to the gameboy version? I have a gba clone that runs gameboy games well, and a ds flash card that runs snes games kinda shitty.

Baldur's Gate 2
Pillars of Eternity
Icewind Dale
Neverwinter Nights 2

The multiplayer's now meaningless because victory's impossible, but having your party progress being carried over for your next party in single-player is cool

>Critics who critique the game needs to die
Pic related.
>>376374935
I don't think you understand. He doesn't give a full overview of the game. Only what he thinks is wrong and should be fixed. Critics do need to die. Only full reviews about every aspect of a game should be allowed, not just covering their faults and seeking the validation of every pseudo philosophizing, self proclaimed critic, numale /v/ user.

The Dark Spire.

Oh, now I get you, mate. To be fair, most, if not all, people who critique a game in any way do the same thing. He does have some good videos that go real in-depth, but his Darkest Dungeon review was not one of those. But from what I remember, his video on DD wasn't too far off. Definitely not his kind of game, but the issues many of us had, he did as well. I could be wrong. You got any good critics I could check out?
>>376376075
I disagree with most critics. I prefer to either play or watch uncommentated footage of a game and draw my own conclusions based on my own tastes, whether I like a game or not. The best reviewer I've seen is ACG, but I don't condone watching him, because I don't really watch him myself. Just from the few vid's I've seen, his views usually end up lining up with mine, but I still only look at reviews after I've decided I'm going to get a game, or have already played a game, in case I'm interested in other opinions on it.
