A lot of times, its the only way a company can get paid to make a game in the first place. Titanfall wouldn't have existed without support from Microsoft and Titanfall 2 wouldn't have happened if EA didn't publish it. In both cases, they got a little bit screwed (Xbone had an abysmal launch and Titanfall 2 was released inbetween two competing giants) but it's either that or the game doesn't happen at all. Bayonetta 2 is another, extremely similar example.

Yeah, in a perfect world everyone would play on PC and there would be no exclusives. PC's would also be a lot easier to manage, both for consumers and companies, and video games would have far fewer technical problems. Unfortunately, this is far from a perfect world and exclusives are an important money making move. I don't like it either but I do understand and respect it.

That's not a twist when it's in the first ten minutes of the game. Only "twists" are Lady Maria and Kos in the DLC. Everything else is pretty straight forward.

Actually the whole DLC is a twist about Gehrman and his hunt. characters from his past show up there, Lady Maria is one for one for the plain doll and talks about him and the Orphan of Kos uses the same yells and screams as Gehrman. Standing theory is that was Gehrman's hunt, he killed Kos, he refused to wake up and killed his caretaker of the dream but didn't consume the umbilical cord thus the Moon took him as her new caretaker. Eh, DaS3 was mostly a B-Team creation. Miyazaki just came in at the last minute when he was finished with Bloodborne and tried to salvage what he could (AKA not much). They slapped his name on the cover as director for marketing/sales reasons. DaS3 ain't a true Miyazaki game son.
