The opening for this was pretty alright the first time,
I just wish it was skippable in some parts.
No Mans Sky, of course. Its trailers and promotions were kkkool, but then it came out and....

I feel quite the opposite about this game. Being forced to stumble around for a long ass time might of been an unskipable cutscene.
No anon, I'm pretty sure the literally FEATURE-LENGTH interactive cutscene is actually one of the least interesting parts of the game.

I almost gave up during that tutorial, then the rest of the game was a blast until you had to do the same mission again

OP just like starring at Big Boss's ass crack.

>Starts off good
>Snake crawls on his stomach for most of the playable intro
I see what you did, OP.

this
it's a glorified cutscene, the actual gameplay was way better
Bravely Default.

That's a nice opening, wish it was a little bigger so I could see more though.

I was pissed how long the opening took. I only had like 15 minutes to try out the sandbox before refunding it.

I get what you're saying and I agree, but only partially.
The start was fantastic for building up the story and introducing elements of the setting that would ultimately be wasted later on. If you were a long time fan of the franchise, it was a pretty good opener.
However, the introduction was also very limited. Sure, it was deliberate, Snake was crippled... but the player felt a bit TOO on rails.
The best part of the game was immediately after the opening, when you got to stretch your legs, as it were, and feel the meat and bones of the game.
Unfortunately, the meat was, while delicious, set over miles of arid, dry bones that you had to hoof it across for each morsel. You had to do it in the very first non-tutorial mission and you had to do it in almost every mission thereafter.
I'm not even mad, just... let down.

In all fairness, who doesn't?
>>376361283
It was a bit too linear and scripted, and not even really fully indicative of how gameplay for most of the rest of the game was besides one room and core controls. Sure, the game did fall flat later on, but it takes a while before that happens.I'm still mad that 90% of this very mission is recycled for the very last one.

How has MGS2 not been mentioned yet?
If by fall off you mean like 30 hours of gameplay later in the 2nd act, sure.
Personally I liked MGSV a lot even though I didn't bother to finish the rushed 2nd act.

you're one of those faggots aren't you
>>376365287
the 2nd act isn't really hard to complete. you just have to listen to the yellow tapes, get your base development up enough for the game to not be a pain about it, and you can completely ignore the recycled missions if you play your cards right

because MGS2 doesn't fall flat at all
