Does no one on /v/ like this series anymore?
everything after 2 was varying degrees of pretty bad
2 > 1 > 4 >>>>>>> 3 > 5

Star Ocean 2 was one of my favorite games.

No, everyone who liked it left about 3 months ago, it was a big organized event. You must have missed it. It was called "everyone who liked Star Ocean leave /v/ day." You must have missed the memo.

haven't played 5 yet but so far you're pretty fucking spot on

No, because 2 was a fluke.
>3 was shit
>4 was shit
>5 was shit
If a Star Ocean 6 is ever released, I'm sure you faggots will say DON'T WORRY GUYS THIS ONE WILL BE GOOD, I SWEAR!
SO2 has one of the worst opening ever. It takes so fucking long for ANYTHING to happen, and every 10 minutes there's nothing but a lot of dull dialog.

1 was good, 2 was good, blue sphere is probably a decent game, the remake of 1 was good, and 4 was at least pretty fun
but that's probably what happens when you try to make a long running series out of something that basically equates to a long, playable episode of star trek with catgirls and other japanese things sprinkled here and there

I want to believe.wmv

2 and 3 are the only good games in the series and 3 is debatable.
>We can win this... I think.

3 was fantastic until that stupid twist.

It's very painfully mediocre. Combat is literal press X with occasional press O. Characters are archetypes but all right. Story is just whatever. The soundtrack consists of basic symphonic rpg stuff but to me it's still probably the best part of the game.
The Second Story is one of the gems of it's generation, but everything else in the series is varying degrees of bad and it's pretty weird how Star Ocean still manages to be way more of a "name" than it should.
