Germany de facto has no free speech laws. The only free speech that is permitted, is by the press, who is selected by the government. Saying "Merkel sucks" for example, results in a 1830€ fine or prison time. Saying that about any other politician part of a big party or a lower ranking official, results in a lesser fine. It's prosecuted under criminal law with the new 'hate speech' laws. Not only that, but police officers who would speak out regarding the nationality of perpetrators have been also fired, because it's now against the law to disclose whenever the perpetrator is a german or not.

They have also recently rewritten laws to remove the right of privacy on communication, such as letters, phone calls and the internet. Resulting in internet providers having to install measures that allows the secret police to automatically fine people if they happen to say anything in private like above. Basically, methods the NSA have been using so far have been now legalized under german law.

The party in control also has been caught rigging votes multiple times and decisevely in their favour and not setting up another new vote or prosecuting the people who did it or punishing the party to some extent. Anyone can see that 92% votes for Merkel are unrealistic.
