Bioshock.

Do people really consider this a puzzle?

*beep boop nigga*
Our beloved Bethesda did a great job at creating a fun and unpredictable hacking mini game on the classic Fallout 3! Have you bought it yet Anon?
None. Hacking minigames that interrupt game flow are a blight
System Shock 1. Any word on them keeping it in the remake?

Enter the Matrix. An actual command terminal as a purely optional thing for secrets

This. from a programmers pov, these suck ass. I'd rather have a minigame where they gave you hints through the game and let you social engineer that shit out. Like, you have to hack a company and you know the CEO's assistant has a dog named wolf and always says bro, then you try out typing in wolfbro and your'e in. But for that you'll need an attention span longer than 5 seconds so you basically lock out 95% of your players. These "hacking" minigames have nothing to do with real life hacking. There are no GUI's with stupid lines you just fucking sort or some shit. Even a 5 year old could solve these within the time limit.
Prey's is actually kinda fun.

Nah, more like people aren't interested in the pseudo-analytical bullshit of Mr. Robot.
I wouldn't have the patience for that either.

not really, it was actually a plumbing simulator. Well there was a game, it was text based, with a fictional-in game programming language. Like Ms-DOS style commands and so on. But I don't remember the name.

do you know about the average intellect of "people"?
I have heard someone say that he dislikes the original star wars movies and prefers the new ones because the old ones "have too much talking".
>>376321546
probably uplink
deus ex:hr had a pretty decent way of doing it.
watch_dogs was shit considering its a game about hacking. even that one scene in PE2 where you have to trace circuits was better implimented.
EVE Online has a pretty neat hacking system.
and it's pretty nerve wrecking sometimes, cause you're paying attention to your mini-game while you could get ganked and blown to pieces
>>376325498
I don't count Uplink because it's not a minigame; it's the entire game.
>>376321546
minigames were a mistake
rpg elements in an action game were a mistake

They changed this in Bioshock 2, right? I remember the ones in 2 being faster and more straightforward.

The door hack meme is great and all but the hacking minigame itself is garbage
