How do I get good with The Lost Vikings and Abathur?

I can perform somewhat well as everyone else that I got in a bundle but I cant figure out how im supposed to be playing Aba or TLV

- Always set down mines when your symbiote is on the 4s cooldown.
- When the objective is on top lane and everybody goes top for the teamfight hide in the bushes of bot lane to soak up EXP. Do the same when the objective is bot.
- Lay down traps when you soak exp in lane so you have time to burrow out.
- You will 90% of the time want to clone a dps or a tank.
- Learn the other characters.
- Give your symbiote regen.
- It is fine to symbiote a minion to push a lane if there are no obvious fights going on.

The main problem is issue 1. Abathur is HIDEOUS on lower elos. When I was learning the ropes of the character vs AI teammates were just ignoring objectives or running away when I have the symbiote on them.

Abathur's main schtick is global map pressure. Instant symbiote on any ally allows them to 1v1 anyone or go toe-to-toe 2v1 thanks to shield. His trait means the lane he is in auto-pushes (and you don't even have to micro around it), and mines means map knowledge and control. He combines both the strengths of splitpushing and global map presence while being slightly weaker at both. The reason you take the hero clone as ultimate is because it allows your team to 5v5 at any point with an expendable stronger hero (sans ult) that won't be a problem if he dies killing someone else before going right back to splitpushing. If the enemy sends someone to stop your passive splitpushing then you just move someplace else and have your team start a 5v4 fight.

The issue is you need TEAMMATES. Pubs are a toss up because of it.

Monstrosity is pretty good if you're going shield/symbiote build. You can't symbiote when you're cloning. Especially on maps where all the people are forced to gather on one objective (i.e. Cursed Shrines) the monstrosity can do work. People are short-sighted, the new systems are just as terrible as Hearthstone(maybe not as bad) and Overwatch. The enticing figure of 20 free heroes is appealing for most and the concept of OMG FREE STUFF! Made people give a shit, but give it time. They'll see its yet another gambling box simulator with mechanics that encourage you to spend 10x to 100x the amount you would on other games for bullshit items you don't want.

Game is still just as simplistic as it was before, and the new 2.0 loot systems make it seem like its a great thing until you get a few heroes to level 5 and the boxes just flat out stop coming in. As soon as the co-overwatch events end I expect a significant portion of the playerbase to leave.

I even think its an okay game too, just a game with zero staying power. Why play a muted moba-knockoff when I could play other shit that is fun.

As for TLV, usually you want to use Eric and Baelor to push and have Olaf help in team fights. Double tapping 1, 2, or 3 will focus on that viking, hitting 4 will select all of them. Each Viking is a hero. This is good (Hanamura a single TLV can push a cart as 3 people) and bad (Each viking hit takes off 3s off of Auriel's Q if she specs into it). If you plan on having mercs on lockdown, get Baelog's heal and mercenary master. Baelog can now solo most merc camps without you looking.

I don't think it should be a quick match map. There are too many cases where it feels like my team lost before the game even started. If their team has Sylvanas or Zagara they're free to take a fort the second our team makes a mistake and the map is so huge that you can't even react in time to stop it. Or Rexxar just shits all over everybody since he can contest the payload forever against a lot of heroes and also pushes much faster than normal while letting his 4 teammates focus on other things, meanwhile Cho'gall is as dead as dead weight can be.

It wasn't the award system in and of itself, but it served as the ultimate lure to get people to give a second look at a game they had no intention of looking at again, especially with the automatic "it's shit" meme going around. Once in there they noticed the roster is no longer a handful of heroes and it keeps rising at a pace of a new hero every 3 weeks.
The wider free hero rotation, the 20 free heroes gift and the more robust gameplay and UI is enough of a contrast for people who haven't looked at HoTS in a long time.

He is pretty terrible right now. I was waiting for his rework since beta but they didn't even fix his horrible puddle of mild annoyance. Sure, they made some must have talents baseline for his abilities but somehow he ended up much worse than before. Previously you were a minor nuisance as well but at least you had more means of survival (shorter cooldown on q and e) and oracle was usable more often which contributed to how long he was able to stay in a fight. Right now you can fade away in a couple of seconds, which clashes with his auto attack mechanics and puddle which suppose you to pin the enemy to one place. Reach of Forcewall is a nice touch and was actually needed but Archon is still shit as it has been since his early nerfs.

It sucks complete ass until you learn how to game the system. Getting heroes to lv5 only takes like 5 games when you're on stimpack (which you can extend through crates) so it accumulates kinda fast.
