At least in EU4's case, it can be challenging to paint the map sometimes, but as far as actually playing the game in general, it's not hardcore or anything once you figure it out. There's not really set rules or winning conditions, it's more like the attitude of a city building game or something. Not sure if any of this applies to HoI4 like in OP, I know it's a lot different.

Great characters, great setting, great art, witty dialogue and it actually has gameplay, however weak it may be.

It's not as entertaining as taking king Melchior the third's, spawn, Baldwin the Weak's portrait and moving it to the top of the succession line and adjusting the tax and grain sliders but it's fun.

Found my old White Label R:TW case in the loft and saw that there was the verification code in the box. Thought fuck it, see if it works on Steam, and it did. Installed Darthmod and played on that, but after a bit of playing, the game would crash whenever I'd capture a settlement. So fuck that, uninstalled DM and now playing Vanilla.

Holy fuck people need to take off their rose tinted glasses on this game, the AI is extraordinarily retarded. I adored this game a decade ago, literally wouldn't stop playing it, but the AI is such shit. Even with Darthmods "AI enhancer".

Would go back to R2:TW but my GPU is dead and I'm stuck using a 640 until my replacement comes in.
