What went so fucking right?
>>
>>376306817
Absolutely nothing.
>>
>>376306817
An interesting concept and just a tiny tiny bit of old school RPG elements, otherwise it's a completely boring and average shooter with puzzles that are either bullshit or too easy. Compared to most other currently released games I'd say it's worth buying but that's not saying much.
>>
>>376307042
It's not a shooter.
>>
>>376306817
it's a game from 2004. Perfect.
>>
>>376307124
unless you're playing on hard or above, it most certainly is.

>inb4 blah blah you have to hide blah blah buncha bullshit from someone who hasn't played it, blah blah. wah wah. it's not a shooter etc. etc.
>>
>>376307042
>with puzzles
what?
>>
>>376306817
In all honesty I've read some of the stuff posters have said about that game, and it seems boring and uniriginal.

Nothing. Its literally just a bootleg System Shock with no personality of its own.
>>
>>376307220
Exactly my point.
The puzzle is either "bounce a nerf dart off this impossible angle to hit a door button" or "gee, where could that keycard be?"

why even bother making puzzles.
>>
>>376307242
List original games please.

So Doom?

doom with worse gamefeel and less shooting.

Prey a shit.
>>
Serious opinion. First 3-4 hours of the game were great but then it got to the point where only viable mechanic to use was stealth because of the difficulty on hard. Tho being my first play I might be missing a lot of secrets and area's resulting in missing supplies and skill points still seems a little too hard.

Is the Denuvo cracked already? I bought the game on Greenman, just wondering.

it was actually fine before denuvo, now every single denuvo game(except japanese because rabid fandom) gets shit on if not cracked in first 3 days

>>
>>376307996
to be fair, a lot of people don't ahve even $60 to refund from but it doesn't excuse them talking about the game they didn't play
at least do not talk about what you don't know, talk after pirating

other noticable trend - whenever denuvo game gets pirated opinions warm up quite a bit about it
>>
>>376307996
>moving the goalposts
>unironically hating on people that dislike the absence of Demo-versions of games nowadays
>>
>>376307257
Those aren't puzzles.
If you actually bother to read the terminals around the station you'd learn about a lot of things that need to be solved.
>>
Played it. 14 hours on hard difficulty. I felt challenged, the game was frustrating at times but not too hard. The story and overall atmosphere was okay. I'd give the game 8/10, nothing too memorable but I enjoyed it and do not regret investing ~35€ to it.
>>
>>376308195
You did rush a lot.
I finished it in about 30 hours and did not do all the side quests.
>>
>>376308195
music was good, surprisingly

except the combat one, I don't know what's with composers recently but they suck at combat music and excel at ambient these days

also why did you rush this much? took me 27h with all optional stuff

>>376307996

Not exactly. I've pirated quite a bit. I just finished the pirated versions, and buy them for realsies on sale if I enjoyed them.

Too many games getting released not to pirate. Literally wouldn't have bought 50% of the games I own if piracy wasn't an option. Too much spending on random crap, hoping it's good, without it.

Weird to me how music and movie piracy is considered to be just whatever by your average normie and aspy alike, but pirating vidya is a deed worse than the holocaust to some people. Is it because it's a more personal medium? I dunno.
>>
>>376306817
That no one played something good like System Shock, so they think that this shit right here is good
Just like with Bioshock

what are your feeling about after credits?
they pulled inception/soma on us
also how many endings is there 4?
>>
>>376308251
>>376308326
Yeah I was bit surprised that everyone else seem to put 20+ hours into it. I started rushing towards the end where I started to feel some anxiety from the environment (which is tbqh what I expect from these kind of "horror"-games) and didn't really want to do most of the side missions, just the ones I felt had bigger meaning towards the storyline. Also my ammo was constantly ending so I just wanted to gtfo.
>>
>>376308481
I played ss2 when it came out
you have no idea what you are memeing about
>>
>>376308636
I have and bad for you that you have played only bad system shock
>>
>>376308406
Because music and movie piracy have a constant stream of normie income no matter what. There are alternative revenue streams like advertising, gigs etc

Games only get money through sales. Things like COD and FIFA it doesn't matter if people pirate.
Other things will basically cease to exist if enough people just refuse to support it financially
>>
>>376308617
tython organs need slight re balance for synthetics and minerals increase to make ammo out of them

did you sue powers? I decided not to, was always running out of everything because of it
>>
>>376306843
????
>>
>>376308736
>implying ss1 was good

wew, next thing you'll say doom 3 was 10/10
>>
>>376308520
I think 2 main endings on the main story (destroy Typhon or destroy Talos 1) and then many small things, like if you destroy Talos 1 you can escape with Dahl and the NPC's you saved or alone with an escape pod or just you can just die in the explosion. Oh and then there is the "hidden ending" where you escape midway through the game.

After credits you either get killed or given the choice to co-operate with humans or kill them
depending on the choices you made, so 3 endings there.

>>376308774
I did a human-only run, didn't put single neuromod towards the alien powers. I did use the slow-mo power a couple times but not regularly.
>>
>>376308406
Movies are still far more popular than games, hit movies make one billion dollars easily while no game has ever come close to that unless you count franchises. Music piracy also doesn't affect the musicians all that much when they make most of their income from concerts and merch.
>>
>>376308893
>ss2 fag defending shit like new Prey
Wow, who could've thought
>>
>>376309126
SS2 is my favorite game and I don't see why I should hate Prey.
It's very similar to it and miles ahead of Bioshock which was very dumbed down.
>>
>>376308884
/v/ BTFO!!!!
>>
>>376308736
>SS1 better than SS2

This must be the most contrarian thing I've seen on here
>>
>>376309220
Still they're both dumbed down versions of first SS
>>
>>376308746
That's a thing I believe a lot of people miss. Piracy isn't inherently a refusal to support financially.
I do the same as the other Anon - I just bought Owl Boy, Hollow Knight, and RE7 on Steam, after pirating and finishing them because I believe the devs deserve my money.

Do the same with music, buying LPs.
Do the same with weeb-toons, buying the stupid expensive collector's Bluray sets.

I can't imagine anime being as popular as it is if it wasn't for piracy, especially considering the stupid amount of older shows that are plain unavailable, and just outright licencing limits. Rip Nyaa.
>>
>>376306817
It's a really good game but doesn't do anything groundbreaking. Love letter for SS fans. 8.5/10
>>
The story is, and this is for real so watch yourself here, you are an alien being put through a simulation to tech you empathy.
>>
>>376309005
I think you can also stay on the station and blow up with it
>>
>>376309398
I'm pretty damn sure you and >>376308406 are a small minority in people that pirate games. I mean, good for you for supporting the devs even after pirating their games, but honestly I believe most pirates don't do that.
>>
>>376309583
>or just you can just die in the explosion.
>>
>>376309236
It's not? Why?
>>
So that guy who worked on the game really was telling the truth and really was leaking the story. Holy fuck.
>>
>>376309597
I'm honestly too scared of viruses to pirate.
>>
>>376309119
>Movies are still far more popular than games
it's not about popularity
it's about investment vs returns and games make fuck huge returns. Movies can only dream about it. Why do you think suits take so much interest in it?

Everything but the story and ost is decent

You are in a space suit you mongrels, those bars are too close o each other to fit you fat ass through.
That said there are windows you can hop through.
>>
it's okay. the way alien powers are done is a bit stupid cause they change the entire game around in terms of how you move from place to place, but not the story, so it just leaves you gimped in the long run because you have to carefully avoid turrets and shit.
>>
>>376310382
And? I could do that in System Shocks, wtf are you on about?
>>
>>376307215
It's an Immersive Sim so it's not a shooter.

The fact that people don't like that word here and don't use it is why we see so many people thinking it's like Alien Isolation or some horror linear shooter and it's why some people don't know how to play it. All they do is rushing to the next quest marker and complain about the lenght of the game.
>>
>>376310414
>the way alien powers are done is a bit stupid cause they change the entire game around in terms of how you move from place to place
but that's the good thing for anyone who did no powers run first
>>
>>376310414
I don't really understand what you mean.
>>
>>376310560
I can't really justify playing through it again, there weren't enough areas that were open to exploration that required things you couldn't get from just one branch.

Like, for instance, most places can be gotten through with something like mimic, OR you can use the gloo gun to create an alternate pathway, or leverage to lift shit and stack it, that sort of stuff. It just doesn't really feel like there's any point because there's nothing that's straight up "you HAVE to have alien powers here", in fact, it always hurts you besides being more fun to fuck with, because you just lose benefits when you pick up powers.
>>
>>376310532
Can we agree there are people who are way to
young to understand how good this game is?

If i would have grown up with battlefield and cod only i would also think this is shit
>>
>>376310532
I have a friend who said Dishonored was shit because he finished the campaign in 4 hours.

Fast forward a couple of years and he played it including the 2 Daud DLC's for like 30 hours.
>>
>>376310854
>>376310778

I think the audience went really wrong with the xbox/halo generation.

Most of people I know play games to "beat them" and not experience them.
They prefer "wow moments" over emergent gameplay.
And most of all, they play for fucking achievements.
>>
>>376309670
SS2 is actually a proper RPG with gameplay that is still passable to this day, unlike SS1
