How in the flying fuck
>>
T-spin
some variants allow it, some don't
that's what I don't like about tetris
>>
>>376306765
I'm sure I've had exact setups like that but I wasn't able to squeeze it through that tight a space.
>>
>>376306876
Some Big Bang stages require you to do them.
>>

ujx19.jpg
67KB, 936x864px
I still don't understand how the hell that makes any goddamned sense.
>>
>>376307498
It doesn't, it's just intentionally put there as a fake "game mechanic"
>>
I can never pull it off.
fuck nips
>>
>>376306690
There's a reason why nobody who plays the arcade Tetris games like the SRS, anon, and it's mostly because of shit like T-Spins.
>>
>>376306876
>>376308281

You probably pressed the wrong rotation button. That's why there's 2
>>
>>376308367
I would press counter clockwise in that example in OP
But I have tried before to get it to spin down both ways and neither work, at most it will go back to on top of the orange piece
>>
It's really surprising to see people don't know about t-spins on /v/
I am a tetris casual and even I knew what they were. Do you guys just never every play tetris?
>>
I want this game but not for $30 :(
>>
>>376308638
I constantly play Tetris, have got a few T-Spin bonuses too but have no idea how OP image works
>>
>>376308485
that overhang on top is crucial
>>
This is why I can't stand new Tetris, powerful kicks and spins that let you out of any mistakes.
>>
>>376306690
My biggest problem is that I'm so used to the classic Tetris where building neatly is key, so I have absolutely no feel for creating t-spin setups
>>
>>376308946
Rotate Counter Clockwise game sees that T is overlapping with the L. Game tries moving it one space left, right, up and down.
Down is the only one that doesn't create another overlap so it goes there.
>>
>>376309232
This is cheating
>>
>you will never be Japan good
https://youtu.be/xA1LOTPxIyk
>>
>>376306690
Fun fact: Tetris is a representation of a galaxy far, far away that's actally hell.
>>
>>376306876
that's what your mom said
>>
>>376308815
>30$ for tetris
Back in my time $30 would buy 10x $3 shitty chinese tetris playing machines each coming with 1000 tetris variations

$30 dollars would buy literally 3000 tetris back then

?
>>

https://tetris.wiki/SRS#Wall_Kicks

Enjoy, autismos.
>>
>>376311831
the thing is that there are only 8 tetris grand masters, 7 from Japan, so even the Japs have a hard time with it.
>>
>>376311839
It's not an actual thing in the original Tetris, it's just put there to have the most simplest puzzle game have more "depth" in gameplay
>>
>>376312032
well aren't you pretentious
>>
>>376312032
But it was, it's a quirk from how it checks when it finds a overlap error.
>>
>>376312114
>>376312068
Explain the OP's pic. The piece rotates around the middle block, and even if the axis was on the rightmost block it still woundl't been physically possible.
>>
The fuck is all this?
Can someone explain?
>>
>>376311926
Kesus fuck

This is why I cant get gud at tetris
>>
>>376306765
Everything modern, say mid 2000s is guideline rotation. Just read up on wall kicks OP

What's your longest Tetris run /v/? Mine's an hour and 15 minutes

On the mobile version by EA
It speeds up the further you get
I can't help shake the feeling sometimes they give me intentionally shitty pieces so I fail and am urged to buy a continue through their in app purchases
>>
>>376315181
It would depend on the kind of RNG used.
Most modern Tetris games use a special RNG that makes sure you get one of everything every 7 pieces.
>>
>>376315181
I used to be able to play the OG Gameboy Tetris for pretty much forever. That and Mario Land were the only video games I had for a very long time so I clocked countless hours into them.
That kinda stuff doesn't really mean much though, I'm painfully mediocre at the Tetris in PPT, vs is just a different ballgame entirely. I can do some very basic T Spin set ups and can recognize when I can go for simple back to backs most of the time, but my speed fucking sucks compared to what's necessary at the higher levels.
>>
>>376315505
The EA one just gets 2fast desu
>PPT
You have it? I've never been into Puyo, barely know what it's about but how is it?
I love Tetris, but I mostly play it on the go and I got it from the Play Store for free. Sure, I have 40 hours or so on it even then, but again, I see it more as a quick game to play to pass some time.
I can't really justify spending £30 on Tetris, and can't imagine it being very engaging to sit in front of your TV and play. Am I wrong? Does PPT still manage to make it engaging?
>>
>>376316386
It might not be, I'm sure if you wait it'll go on sale.
It's part of the puyo puyo franchise so it has selectable characters so you can have an anime character go "yeah!" and ready a special attack every time you clear a line.
>>
>>376311753
But there is no cute girls in chinese tetris.
>>
>>376315490
fucking bags, Z S S Z
>>
>>376316568
>so you can have an anime character go "yeah!" and ready a special attack every time you clear a line.
Kek. Guess I'll pass. Maybe one day it'll be sub £5. It reviewed well so I thought there might be more to it
>>
>>376311753
These were fucking great.
>when you figure out the trick to getting the ball the keep bouncing between your paddle and the wall in brick breaker so you leave it running until you get max points
>>
>>376316701
>he doesn't waifu the pixel girls in the dancing game you could never understand
>>
>>376308638
Everyone knows about the T spin but probably not that you can take it far enough to do what OP's pic shows.

>best tetris player used to be from my country before some nips beat him

you'll always be top in my book jono
>>
>>376316386
I mean, it's fundamentally a competitive Vs game. It's engaging in the same way that defeating someone at Street Fighter is engaging, it has an absolutely ridiculous amount of depth for a puzzle game and a skill ceiling that's so high you will never even catch a glimpse of it no matter how many hundreds of thousands of hours you put into it.
>>
>>376316789
I mean it's more about playing against others. And swap is great if you like both.
>>
>>376316975
if movies made hacking look like playing expert level tetris, it'd be a lot more beleivable
>>
>>376316789
>kek
>guess i'll pass
so this is a genuine normalfag.. woah
>>
>>376312319
The explanation is similar to the example with a I piece in >>376311926
It doesnt rotate around the middle block, its way more complex than that.
>>
>>376317469
Not that guy, but the va work in the game is pretty gobshite. I can't imagine anyone but the most hardcore of moeblob fans enjoying hearing

Barely know what I'm looking at here, I really don't into Puyo at all
>>376317014
>>376317180
That actually does sound interesting. I can't imagine CPU is very fun, and I doubt I'd find many people up for local co-op, but the fact it has online multiplayer sounds like some good fun. Competitive Tetris isn't something I've ever really played.

Jesus man, that invisible part, what the fuck

I forgot, is there an Invisible Tetris mode in PPT?

Don't lie and be an idiot, anon. You never knew in the first place, which is why you are asking.
>>
>>376311831
At around the 3 minute mark it basically becomes a rhythm game
>invisible
Oh haha just pis off I was about to comment how unfair it was but that's something else.

See the thing is you post shit like this that you've stored up because you're too dense to make the argument yourself.
>inb4 hurrdurr you did the same
No, it was a simple image that didn't make an argument, just illustrated a point.
You're there complaining about communities being ruined and derailing threads which is "rarely done" by anime posters.

First of all, holy shit get off your pedestal and second of all, look at the damn thread. People are discussing Puyo Puyo Tetris, then this retard comes along sperging "NORMALFAG EVERYONE NEEDS TO LIKE ANIME LIKE ME". It's irrelevant, it caused this derail and it's just beyond stupid. It's also the reason I decided to ask itt about PPT because it was fairly slow and I figured the chance of encountering retards like you were slim. I'm pretty sure I've been here much longer than you anyway, but continue your bollocks about the community you joined 2 years ago being ruined.
