Ive had a tradition with a few friends where we all take time off work and watch it together live. We live in Australia so the times are pretty fucked but its my favourite time of the year every year. Just having a few drinks and chilling out, getting excited by Sony/Nintendo's announcements, cringing + laughing at Ubisoft/E3 and getting stupid tweets through to the post event talk shows.

Sadly most of my irl friends either don't care about it, or don't care enough about it to stay up and watch it live. For me it's more of a tradition. I'm usually disappointed each year but the fun of it is worth it. Death Stranding will be my number 1 to look out for this year. Can't wait to see what Kojima's master plan is, and whether there will be no survivors

The great thing about E3 is even if you don't have anyone to watch it with IRL /v/ is usually a great place to be during the whole event. People seem to move all the shitposting to the stickies so most threads have decent discussion.

Kojima is such a wild card, I feel like he could announce just about anything and his rabid fanbase would praise it as the second coming of Christ. Death Standings gameplay will be really interesting to see but I can't help but think it'll be one of those on rails pseudo-action movie games in the end.

Been playing Overwatch(I know it's shit but I keep on playing), Dying Light, Shadow Warrior 2, Mad Max and occasionally Halo. Not happy with the Xbone so I built my own a PC with windrone 10. The Scorpio is released too late for this generation, but if the next Halo only has splitscreen on the Scorpio then I will very enticed to buy it.

Sony was ok last year, they just had the majority of announcements. But it was nothing really crazy or exciting, their God of War announcement was some boring gameplay and TLOU 2 was just a bland cutscene.

The last good E3 was 2014, but that's mostly because Nintendo came out with the hypest shit. Damn shame all their E3's since have been shit.

This year it's public, but I don't know how much they'll change because of that. Being at E3 has never really been a "video game funland."

It used to be open to the public in ye olden days, but it became a total shitfest and forced ESA to restrict to an insider only event. It's pretty telling that the tickets to E3 2017 were $200, but still sold fast enough for the limited batch to disappear within hours.
