Depends, 4-6 years for a AAA, 2-7 for an Indie; boils down to the community and game itself.

Is old the same as retro? A good cutting line for retro is anything pre-PS2 minus the Dreamcast like how /vr/ operates, but old in my view is 4 years after release which was a pretty good benchmark seeing as that marked a halfway point for a console generation until recently.
