Two really stupid ideas.

The problem wasn't that there weren't enough maps, it was that they fell for the open world meme in the first place. And it was in a game in which the series is known for it's finely tuned set pieces. It should have been GZ sized maps so you could still choose your infiltration route, but not be stuck with 90% empty land that just takes up development time.

Definitely--it's called Infinite Heaven. The menu it HAS to use in the game fucking sucks and you has this awful delay and it takes around a full hour to fully tweak and set up, with menus buried in other menus, but it's worth it.

It does just enough to ALMOST fix the issues I had with the environments, but it can't fix shit level design unfortunately.

Install it, then set enemy sight to 310, night sight to 265 or so, and hearing to 160.
Enable all optional foot and vehicle patrols with random vehicle spawns and random loadouts on foot patrols, no balance, everything full range, no balance,

Just go all out, and reduce the fulton success rates dramatically so that a fulton is neigh impossible outside of perfect conditions (not totally impossible however).

It brings actual strategy in to play and you have to actually plan and IMPROVISE to stay undetected. It's a bit more frustrating when you screw up though, but S ranking stuff is still possible when you've got OP shit.

Where do I even get mods? I've just been playing the normal game since I didn't want to get banned or shadowbanned from the game.

The only issues I've got with IH still is that you kind of have to manually toggle stuff on or off to show on Motherbase, when you think they should show or disappear (Walker Gears), and there still some gamebreaking conditions with certain combos of settings that'll cause infinite load screens, but there's a fail safe built in so that you can get back in and fix it without fucking your save.

It's highly probable you won't get banned for using IH. They put a feature in so that it turns off automatically when playing FOB mode.

If you mod offline resources and shit though and it crosses online, it might be trouble. But anything not relating directly to resources or soldier ranks should be safe.

I really wish Eli and Quiet were never in the game. Eli is just a dull asshat that doesn't add anything new or engaging to Liquid's character. That cut lord of the flies scene made good use of him though.
Quiet is honestly a waste of time as a character. She's supposed to be this mysterious character, yet there's no mystery to her mystery. She's bland and comes off as a generic strong independent woman.
Despite being a massive waifu fag I could never get behind Quiet as a waifu. She's just some strong autistic child.

I don't care what any one says, the first 10-15 hours of this game were 10/10 perfect. Nothing will change that for me.

The late game, while flawed is still some good shit, and better than a lot of full games I have played.

That's literally MGS2, though, which people idolize.

More than that, though, I think you're wrong. V is actually extremely important to BB's story, since V's existence allowed him to have an air of omnipotence while they were both moving towards the same end from different places in the world, and, more importantly, he was there to take the fall for BB in Intrude; the whole point of his existence.

Don't get me wrong though -- I wish to god we'd gotten an entirely different game. But MGS2 and MGS4 numbed my expectations for the series, so maybe that's the only reason I can actually like TPP for what it is, despite what it isn't.

I have done that to others and had it happen to me as well. It was really annoying the first time it happened because I was originially about to ghost this guy and konami servers disconnected me when I was right at the fucking core door. Kojima had the perfect fucking set-up. We knew Big Boss went slightly insane before Solid put him down (twice), now all we had to know was how he lost himself and became a reckless warmonger. Tapes were handled poorly, because if you listen to them while doing other things, undoubtedly Miller or Ocelot will talk over them. They're like an audiobook that is delivered in 2 minute chunks, with a shitty interface.

Having to spam the codec button to hunt for dialogue easter-eggs wasn't much better, mind. At least in TPP, you don't have to call every character individually.

It's jarring with Venom, because he talks plenty in tapes, is taciturn in cutscenes, and mute in gameplay. His wall of silence to Skullface stands out, but then he Snake never said anything the Cobras either. Maybe Kojima saw that "discussing philosophy with madmen" had become a cliche.

It's not just that. Actually, missing the subtle nods and references to previous games is nothing. The main thing you'll miss is the progression of gameplay and mechanics, and going from MGS5 to MGS1 will give you fucking whiplash. You'll literally be going 15+ years backwards, and it'll feel like it. Trust me, do not go with chronological order. It's a bad idea for this series. The games are meant to be played in release order, despite the chronology.

By the way, if you're going for special editions, MGS1 has the Integral edition, which comes with a third disc that's filled with various cool VR missions. It was the first of the special editions, followed by Substance for MGS2 and Subsistence for 3, and Substance expanded on the VR mission thing even further.

Do I have to call in a supply drop every time I ran out of silencers?

It has storyline 30 missions which depending on your skill might give you 20-40 minutes of gameplay per mission.

You can do that or perform hold ups by being sneaky. Saves bullets, suppressors.

When do I get a vehicle?
You fulton them from missions, you need a special fulton upgrade which doesnt come until later in the game.

Pretty much.
You can find them in set locations but it's extremely inconsistent. A checkpoint in the buttfucking mountains can have one lying around but an entire supply base won't.
