Literally play more, everything you need to do is memorize the song or the rhytm of the song, try to remember the parts of the song where you have much trouble to deal with, it's better if you're playing Future Tone since it has a Practice Mode , I remember I couldn't even get a Standard on Paradichlorobenzene (my fave song btw, mad moves Len has) till I played it every single day I could, now I'm on my way to perfect it on Extreme. It took me a while to clear Skeletons on Hard, too. Mainly you just need to smash your head against the wall until the rhythm clicks for you.

On a dualshock? Haven't tried but my first impressions just from holding it make me think it wouldn't be too worth it. Holding it would be way too hard so you'd have to place it on a surface unless your index fingers are relatively short, and either way you wouldn't be able to reach the shoulder buttons or fatthumb multis. I don't think you'd be able to get that sort of rocking motion either, which some people rely on for spamming.

Practice.

You'll want to get fast enough that you can hit rapid note strings, then probably end up TOO fast for that, which means you'll then need to learn pacing. There's also a number of songs where the timing changes throughout the song, and so learning to control your pacing for those is good practice as well.

Once you start getting into the harder difficulties (Hard and Extreme) you'll want to start practicing dual-sticking, or using the directional buttons as a second set of buttons. You'll already need to do so for the arrow notes, but they can be used separately and are the key to hitting very rapid series of notes far easier.

A couple years ago I didnt care much to listen to Hajimete No Oto or play it again, but recently, the realization this song is already ten years old and that is still good is making my nostalgia boner go up

Weiss Schwarz is okay. It puts out sets of different anime and anime/game characters, so there isn't much power spiral. So you can generally just pick up whatever set you like and make a deck without worrying about grabbing the most recent Idolmaster or Fate/Stay Night set for the strongest cards.

That said, you're a couple of years late to the party so good luck if you want any. They were released for Project Diva F and F2nd, and I haven't seen any more since.

$60 for a box of 20 packs sounds pretty decent.
$25 for the trial deck (basically a guaranteed set of certain cards) isn't bad.
I wouldn't bother buying the individual cards, since they come from separate sellers and would charge you shipping for each one.

Just be sure you're buying the english version and not the japanese version, unless you are fine with your cards coming in moonrunes. You'd probably just want the trial deck if you just wanted to start playing the game.
