She's the one with the best story and side quests, and relates the best to the MC, but she isn't the "canon" girl, the "canon girl" in RF games are the ones that find you with amnesia somewhere and help you first, but in the other games they aren't as forced as Shara is in RF3, that's why you don't see as much hate for them as you see for Shara.
