Amazons season 1 is pretty enjoyable, season 2 is very eh and they're more just playing up the gore than anything else.

Nah man, I know it's a slow burn but we're already what, five episodes into a twelve episode or so season and the most that's happened is we've kind of had some backstory on Iyu with Haruka being introduced a bit. I know Mamoru and his crew are in the next episode and I know they're starting to ramp things up, but the start is just so long.

The point of all this is to flesh out Chihiro as an Amazon who doesn't want to be an Amazon, which is different from Haruka who was an Amazon realizing he's an Amazon. The difference is that Chihiro is actively denying his nature rather than questioning like Haruka, to the point where he even fights like someone not putting everything into it. He's basically meant to be a protagonist from the perspective of all those poor schmucks Haruka felt bad for who just wanted an ordinary life.

Too bad Haruka decided to go to college and left Mamoru and his friends alone so they ended up thinking bio terrorism was fine and haruka is STILL being a fucking retard saying he'll protect them despite their bio terrorism ways.

Well, they've already done a pretty good job just within two or three episodes already of showing he just wants to be normal by him simply lashing out at everyone and trying to fit in, and it's taken quite a long time to really show anything else besides his fascination with Iyu and people talking about water severs over and over. I know they're developing Chihiro and harping on his mindset, and I know they're setting a bunch of things up with all the crews, it's just a very very slow burn.

Fair enough, though I don't see why you couldn't just stop your transformation when only the boss is left since it seems like anyone that isn't Parad can't attack you without a transformation since that's not part of the rules. It's poorly designed but at the same time you can advance if you're clever enough.
