I need a game that has satisfying gunplay, good attention to details with weapons.

Any recommendations?

It's a good game in its own right but not from a Gunplay and weapon standpoint

Project Reality has really nice weapon models and sounds. The first person animations are nice, as well, but you'll see the same reload animations regardless of whether there's a round in the chamber. That's likely a limitation of the BF2 engine.

The shooting itself is not that great. You have to deal with the odd BF2 hitboxes and the ballistics are based on a deviation system where your shots will go off target based on a number of factors. To be fair, it's better now than it was a few releases ago when it was almost pure RNG but I doubt someone new to PR would find it enjoyable.

PR is a game you play for the teamplay opportunities and combined arms, not the gunplay.

I'd recommend playing with the Blue Suns mod. It adds a bunch of stuff (like even more guns) and fixes some of the problems in vanilla, though it does have a lot of questionable writing and a few bugs of it's own.
