Yeah, but I don't know how it stacks up as an SMT game because it is the only one I've played besides Devil Survivor, which is more of an SRPG.

It's pretty fun, and I'm probably just a casual but it definitely feels like there are spikes in difficulty. I'll even collect a bunch of sidequests in a new area and ALL of them seem like they are above my level. It relies really heavily on using enemy weaknesses and buffs/debuffs. But that is why sometimes it feels a bit trial and error, because you'll hit a new enemy or boss type and not know what their weakness is, and they'll destroy you in like 2-3 turns.

>>
>>376265540
Yeap it's the one on the 3DS, and it looks good for what it is. The sprite work is hit or miss though since they brought in a lot of guest artists.
>>
>>376264703
;
>>
>>376265071
It's not a bad entry point. I think the big thing for transitioning into Mainline from Persona is getting use to the Press Turn system, which is pretty different from One More.

Playing it on harder difficulties is the real nightmare, but like Persona, SMT tend have the same reverse difficulty curve syndrome. Try them out sometime, though.
>>
>>376265681
Even the PSP has better graphics than the New 3DS.
>>
>>376265540
It does have PS2 era graphics when dungeon crawling, and it used sprites during battles. It still feels very refined within its style, though, if that makes sense. If you don't look too hard at the details and textures (which you can't because you are looking at a tiny screen), you could give a pass.

My friend owns a DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Black Label arcade cabinet.

So yeah, that.

The only reason people discovered that there was a true final boss in the game was because there was a track on the soundtrack that wasn't used for any of the bosses. It has retarded requirements like beating the game once without dying or bombing to get the hidden 2nd loop, and then doing a bunch of retarded shit on the 2nd loop.

Here's a video of the true final boss, ZATSUZA

Nintendo is a rehashing, unoriginal pieces of shit who's only modern success post-SNES stem ENTIRELY from serendipity and milking the old IPs to death.

nice choice, but I think you meant to say DDP DaiFukkatsu instead of DaiOuJou, final boss of DaiOuJou is this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_WWLXBI3Qw

really though both games are insanely difficult, especially the death label mode on the PS2 port of DaiOuJou, which apparently has only ever been completed twice since release, thanks to being a one life boss rush featuring double Hibachi

Death Label mode is fucked up, it's a 2-loop boss rush of the game, but once you get to the second loop, they take away all your extra lives, and the first loop has difficulty equivalent to the second loop of the regular game, so the second loop is even harder than that. You have to fight the true final boss in both loops, but in the second loop you have to fight two at once, though fortunately it's just one health bar shared between them. The only saving grace is that the game refills your bombs and hypers before each fight, though even then they don't refill between phases of Hibachi, and only the hypers are really much help since once you get to the second loop bombing the bosses will heal them instead.

Like I said, fucked up, that video I linked is about the only recorded completion I can find.
>>
>>376272652

Actually, I fucked up, the video I posted is just the first loop rendtion of double Hibachi, I guessI remembered it wrong, you fight two Hibachi's noth times, but they're toned down in the first loop fight, you can tell by how quickly it goes down, as well as just how many less bullets there are, specifically the first pattern, where one Hibachi shoots blue bullets and the other shoots pink ones. Here's the video of the complete second loop of the mode's first completion by MON, iirc another player, SWY, pulled it off two weeks later, both 8 years or so after release, and I don't think it's been completed since.
