Well it's a Korean MMO, so expect heavy grinding. But the end game is pretty good in my opinion. It basically gets to the point where it comes down to skill, and seeing patterns and mechanics.

None. Right now the genre is shit.

WoW is Diablo 3 with RNG upon RNG upon RNG and is bleeding good players as they trivialize high level content

FFXIV is just pure garbage that is supported only because weebs will eat anything up as long as its got an FF setting.

Pretty much everything else - Wildstar, private WoW servers, etc, have their own problems that make them not even worth looking at. Mostly just being plain dead.

At this point probably just ESO. No MMO is worth a subscription fee, so might as well play a B2P that's mediocre.

This is why Destiny got so popular and I'm probably just going to play Destiny 2 and MH5 in the near future as my grinding games.

While this guy >>376257430 is right about the endgame revolving more around skill and knowledge than many other mmos it is still a pure grindfest.
The problem with that is that you have to constantly grind the early end game dungeons for drops and shit and that 2x daily (x4 if you pay for Tera Club(tm)) and do that for all 6 of the low end raids and then also get your actual runs in so you can get your gear that you uprade with the shit you get in the low dungeons.
tldr: its incedibly time consuming and pretty much unplayable at some point without paying a monthly fee so dont play it unless youre a NEET

Unlike GW2 which has a cash shop and also never releases new gear for players to get outside the cash shop, FFXIV is constantly releasing new armor and weapon models.

The cash shop stuff is mostly two things: NPC armors and limited run event items. I dont entirely agree with the NPC armor bit, but I'm perfectly fine with the limited time items being available.

The expansion part is just complete and utter bullshit.

There's either WoW or FFXIV. Both are awful for different reasons, both have shills that will deny anything bad said.

For real, MMO's are shit and you're better off playing something like Rust. Or if you want a good online game something like Dota 2.

Or if you want something actually good go back to the early 00's when games weren't fucking garbage yet.

I hit that point where people recommend the elite status and stopped. It was fun to level up though. It was really satisfying learning when to dodge/block to keep my dps up as a melee class.

Yeah it has one of the best combat system imo
but everything else just sucks the fun out of it

I actually went ahead and bought a key for the game for 5€ which gave me club membership and some other shit (club itself is 13€ here) and it was fun until it came to upping my apex equip at which point I quit
