I want more reactivity in the storyline.

It's never going to happen, but the concept simply screams for missions with multiple outcomes and branching story paths. You could have some really great moments this way, instead of just slavishly sticking to "fixing" the canon storylines with only the meaningless side-missions diverging from it.

For example, imagine if there was a time disturbance in the climactic Future Gohan vs Androids fight. Except instead of simply giving the villains a power boost so you have to fight them like in every fucking mission ever, it's Gohan that is given a power boost so instead of getting killed he wrecks the Androids. This obviously changes the timeline, so you get a mission to fix it. Except you get there to set things right and oh shit fuck, the only way to fix it is to fucking kill Gohan yourself, all the while Trunks (the time patrol version) is completely fucking losing it over the comms.

XV2 played with this idea, but it was pretty much just an afterthought with no real consequences. But imagine if the entire story was based around decisions like that, so you'd have to choose between doing the "right thing" and essentially going full villain mode in order to keep the timelines stable, or start helping people but risk fucking up time itself. You could also have a character that basically makes the opposite choice you did, becoming a recurring rival/antagonist. For example the rival could be Trunks himself. If you choose to kill Gohan he'll lose his shit and go rogue, while if you save him he'll go all hardass timecop on you and wants to arrest you for fucking with the timestream.

His "help" should have been taking Mira's blast for you in the time chamber, and your old CaC should have been the one to show up to help you in the final fight
