Honestly, this console has the potential to outsell the original Gameboy if they play their cards right.

They need mainline Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, and a new Smash Bros game. Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade will appeal to the hardcore this year, focus on casual will be with Mario Kart and Splatoon, combined with a bunch of other Nintendo first party IP.

If they really market this thing to indies and then provide solid AAA titles, this will be huge.

The only thing they need to do is to release a new Switch in a couple of years (in white please!) with better battery and smaller internals. They'll inevitably do this like they've done with all consoles before it.

Yeah, I feel you. I actually have a white n3DS with the faceplates and I have the Pokemon Gen 1 faceplates with a Jeff Mother 2 charm I got while in Japan at Super Potato.

I was hugely disappointed that the Switch didn't carry on the (stillborn, frankly) trend of faceplates from the N3DS.

Especially since both the unit itself and the dock almost look like they are designed with detachable faceplates in mind.

Yeah it's kind of bullshit but I have a feeling it's coming.

There is so much hidden shit in the Switch that Nintendo have yet to unveil.

Soon they'll be adding notifications from that like 1cm exposed part of the screen while Switch is in docked mode. Sort of like the Wii U did.

And also the JoyCon R has an LED in it, which is why the Home button has that translucent ring around it.

This is the most un-Nintendo-like OS we've seen from them, which means they'll have a nice unveiling this holiday. :)
