Horror games need more stealth combat. Killing enemies through trickery or by leading them into traps would help spice up the running and hiding of most modern horror.

Seriously, anyone who played it like that and wasn't legitimately terrified at parts, is either blatantly lying or needs to seek a mental health professional immediately.
It relies a bit too much on jump scares for my liking, but the first half of RE7 is a genuinely very good horror game. It's only when you pick up the shotgun and tons of ammo that it loses that aspect.

I loved that scene. What part was poorly animated to you?

It reminded me of point and click adventures like Lure of the Temptress' opening dungeon escape. Having a key item based solution engages you with the game world quite a bit more than just the typical "fill the enemy up with bullets until he falls".
